FRIENDS 02X15 WATCH PARTY

Comments

I have made out with.. a large amount of my friends (oops?) but there have definitely been giggly moments of like 'oh my god this is actually happening.' It wasn't because it was funny, it was just because we were awkward and excited and it was just kind of exhilarating to be taking that new step with them. Age gap wise, it's never really bothered me? Idk, they're both legal adults consenting to it. It IS a bit weird that he knew them as kids, but I also think it was made clear enough when he didn't recognize her that he doesn't really see her as kid Monica at all. He sees adult Monica. I always thought he was actually good for her. In my own life, I've never dated THAT big of a gap. I'm in an interesting place though because I've been groomed by people older than me a few times as a teen, but then as an adult I still would gravitate toward people older so I'm not sure what that says /shrug

Megan Christina

Ty Jade, we all good now it was just very hard back then xxx

Lucy

that's so wild, I'm sorry you had to go through that

I have no problem with age difference as long as they legal of course. The only time I did was when my best friend nearly hooked up with my dad! I was livid as she knew the crap I have been through with him - that one thing we really bonded over - our messed up dads! Then I find out they been sexting and all sorts. She had lost her dad to suicide about 8 months from then, so she was on a big downward spiral doing all sorts of weird shit and I was there there for her- but that was a line for me, I had to distance myself for a few months. She then told me the reason was because her dad always commented on how big my boobs were! I was like come ooooooon we are 26 not 15 ,why you doing this!!! It was a weird time.

Lucy

I feel like any time I've made out with a friend, it's been in a moment of passion, but the problem Rachel was having was that while they had chemistry, in general, it was more of an awkward, "we're supposed to kiss now because we're dating" moment. So she was just too in her head and nervous about it.

Samantha Shults

For Monica and Richard I do like them together but I think the weird part isn't so much the age difference, but the fact that he knew her when she was a kid

Jade Pinnock

I think the laughter was because Rachel was nervous, sometimes I laugh when I feel nervous/awkward lol

Jade Pinnock

Yeah I do agree everyone looks at things differently

Jake Sullivan

i don’t think that.. audrey has different life experiences and would handle the whole situation differently. i am influenced by the fact that i have seen all the series and i know what happens, but at this point i understand why audrey has this opinion. I don't share it with her 100%, but I understand that she looks at the world from a different point of view, and so do I and the other people here. we all perceive it differently. she doesn’t like what rachel did and i think that’s totally okay.

Tereza

I do just get the feeling you’ve made your mind up about Rachel and just don’t like her which is a shame.

Jake Sullivan

Same 😂

Savvy H

Agree… if I was watching this for the first time… I think I’d be just as annoyed at Rachel as Audrey is… but I find myself team Rachel over Ross now lol. She grows over time

Savvy H

looking at the episode titles for the rest of the season and placing bets on which plotlines youre gonna get annoyed with rachel for lol. but really i hope she grows on you because even though she can be spoiled she's basically just as flawed as every other character!

Nicole M

When I was younger I thought he was hot "for an old guy" (to be fair I was like 10 so everyone over 40 was old to me) 😂 Tom Selleck is almost 80 and still looks so good.

If you don't laugh when you make out then is there really chemistry ? Even during sex ,a good laugh with your partner makes it ten times better. And about the age gap thing i like how both Monica and Richard were asking themselves if they're crazy, if they should cut it out immediately or not but in the end they're just letting the tension do its thing. I personnaly dated four guys older than me, i am 23 and my ex boyfriend is 36 (i guess it's not that big compared to Monica and Richard).

Dylan

I have had a moment where I laughed while getting intimate with my partner when we forst started showing feelings cause we'd been friends for a while. I'm a nervous laugher but it didn't actually ruin the moment in the end. And we are still together nearly 3 years later! Age gaps don't bother me soo much, what bothers me about it is him knowing her when she was young and being a family friend. I feel like if I knew someone who was a Child or teen when I met them I couldn't see them as anything other than that.

Alex Foster

I don’t like that he knew her when she was a child. If that wasn’t the case, I see nothing wrong with the age difference. But the fact that he has known her since she was a little girl and that she hung out around him with his daughters when she was little… and that he’s good friends with her dad… sits uncomfortable…. That being said, I’m 28 and he’s hot lol.

Savvy H

Early release yay!!! I just get the feeling you don't like Rachel very much, which is totally okay 😉 I've never kissed one of my friends and just the thought of it weirds me out so I completely understand. You have to remember her feelings are all rather new while Ross has been in love with her for like 10 years. But I also understand why he feels insecure about her laughing. I like Monica and Richard together. Such a big age difference can be a problem in certain situations, but if neither person is underage and there is no power imbalance I mind my own business. However, I understand why people find it a bit creepy seeing as he has known Monica since she was a baby, is friends with her parents and she went to high school with his kids. Btw, the actor who plays Richard is Tom Selleck, who is best known for Magnum P.I., Three Men and a Baby (and its sequel), and more recently, Blue Bloods. It's funny when Richard answers the door and Phoebe says "It's James Bond!", because Tom Selleck was actually considered for the role earlier in his career. When I was younger I always thought that when Rachel heard the pop of the juice box she thought Ross farted but it was actually the liquid that she mistook for premature ejaculation (which doesn't really make sense since she's on top of it) 😂 Fun fact: The song that plays when Ross and Rachel... you know, is Wicked Game by Chris Isaak. He is the guy from the library that Phoebe was with when she was singing "inappropriate" songs for the kids. In the last scene where she is teaching him Smelly Cat, he sings a bit from the song. On a sad note, Oct 28th was exactly a year since Matthew Perry died. I really recommend his book, especially for Danny seeing as he talks a lot about his addiction. His family just did an interview and it's absolutely heartbreaking, especially hearing his mum talk about him: https://youtu.be/KnmegqkWXtM?si=UQNhp-tqMxX5Ixgv 💔 Btw, his sister Emily (on the top left) looks just like him! Also here, with his childhood friends as well who inspired Chandler's iconic phrases such as "Could this report BE any later?": https://youtu.be/SmxTq_sp-Aw?si=yQyuVoNAViYaYg0M And a longer interview with his stepdad Keith: https://youtu.be/U3czFc-9yrU?si=Ld04AYFCmD-DTe0o He wanted to be remembered for helping people more than his role on Friends, which he seems to have succeeded. He helped so many people get sober, go to rehab, paid for their rehab and also helped them when they got out of rehab (either directly or through the show). His family has continued on his legacy with the Matthew Perry Foundation, helping people struggling with addiction/mental health, especially after rehab when they don't get as much help.
