FRIENDS 02X10 WATCH PARTY

Comments

My husband could not look less than my father if he tried lol. But their personalities are EXACTLY the same lol, same with my brother. They are huge pranksters and tell WAY too many "dad" jokes, but I wouldn't trade them for anything. Lots of laughs in this house. 🤣

Lady RedShee

I've never heard that term before but it's great. The one I hear more often in the gay community is boyfriend twinning

Jay Johnston

When growing up I loved the long hair look on guys, with the curtains hehe ....and my brother had that hair style too lmao Now though my hubby don't look like my brother atall! ( Thankfully haha 😂) I've never been attracted to guys that look like my dad like ever! But I have friends who have definitely dated people who look like theirs. I find it very fascinating.

Lucy

I’ve honestly never heard of this phenomenon 😂 Historically I’ve dated blond men that look nothing like my middle eastern family 😂

Samir

Spoiler alert…. But not really… Ross and Rachel for the majority of the series are on-again off-again. In fact they pretty much invented the “will they, won’t they” in modern day sitcoms so be patient. It will happen soon lol

John

Also thought about it more… my partner has a lot of the same features of a lot of my cousins. Reddish brown hair, green eyes… I swear this wasn’t on purpose though, lol. I’ve never had a physical type. My type has always been nerd. Every person I’ve dated in my life has been a different ethnicity of nerd lol. I often have a hard time relating to people on celebrity crushes… I’ve never had one. I tend to fall for nerdy characters in shows, but that has nothing to do with their appearance

Lol

"Doppelbangers" what? 😂

Heida

definitely with you on the Ross and Rachel take. Ross's situation is unfortunate but he isn't totally blameless either... it was his decision to break up with (and cheat on) Julie

Nicole M

I've definitely met couples before who looked like they could be related. I guess that's how that website Siblings or Dating came about lol.

Jennifer Lawrence

I love your reaction to Russ 😂 It's one of my mom and I's favorite episodes. I remember her being excited for me to watch it because she thought it was so funny. I have to agree, lol.

This phenomenon is called "Doppelbangers" in the gay community haha

First, happy 30th anniversary!!! The pilot premiered 30 years ago last Sunday (Sep 22nd)!! 🎉 And, just to get that out of the way, I've never dated anyone so... The Fun Bobby storyline is actually pretty true and sad. It reminds me of my dad. He's always been both pretty grumpy and VERY emotionally distant towards me and the family, but when he's been drinking he actually opens up and listens. I know he means what he says but I need to hear him say it sober. I also agree with you that it's just a symptom of the problem and in order to get proper help you need to get to the root of it. My dad did the 12 steps a few years ago and he claims to have done the work and really faced his issues, but I honestly don't see it in his behaviour. Besides, he was actually drinking the entire time (and still is) so... Alcoholism runs in my family so I've decided to pretty much avoid alcohol (besides the occasional cocktail) because I've seen how it destroys people and families. I also just don't like the taste of most of it. I actually don't think many people do, because the main thing they are after are the effects. I think it's crazy that we live in this culture where alcohol is just normalised and people even think you're weird if you don't drink, like you must be an alcoholic if you don't. But no, some people just choose not to drink. I think it's okay to have the occasional drink, especially if you're a grown adult, but I personally don't like it. Back to the show though. I agree that Rachel is being a little petty and the whole Russ thing is weird (though it's just mainly for comedy) but I still get why she was hurt. It's not as much the fact that he made the list but that he did it behind her back, with their mutual friends AND wrote it down (or Chandler did). I honestly don't think she would have reacted the way she did if he had just been upfront about it, especially because there wouldn't be this much miscommunication. Also, while Ross did break up with Julie "for her", it was still his decision and not something Rachel made him do. Obviously, as much as he loved Julie, he wanted to be with Rachel more. Anyways, despite being played by David Schwimmer, Russ was credited as being portrayed by "Snaro" which was David's alias and a tribute to one of the producer's friends. June Gable, who plays Joey's agent Estelle, appeared before as a nurse assisting Carol giving birth to Ben and the other woman Joey was helping. And John Aniston, Jennifer Aniston's father, played one of the main characters on Days of Our Lives from 1985 until he passed away in 2022. Lastly, I kind of agree with you on Stanley Tucci. But if you want to see him be anything but hot, I suggest The Lovely Bones. He's so creepy in that! It's a very sad and emotional movie though.

A weird phenomena in gay relationships, is often they look like each other lol. One of My best friend is getting married to his boyfriend, and it's been a running joke that we can't tell them apart from the back, almost twin like... lol truly. This also happens in straight relationships, but it's much more obvious in same-sex ones. Maybe we are obsessed with ourselves lol
