The Rainbow album which Praying is on is my favourite album by Kesha! I was suffering from Depression/Burnout/Aftermath of Trauma back in 2017 and I was feeling suicidal! The Rainbow album came out and helped me through that really low period of my life! I still go back and listen to it now if I ever find myself in a low place!

2024-09-10 23:06:00 +0000 UTCDuring Kesha's 2018 60th Grammy Awards performance, the woman on the right of Kesha is Cyndi Lauper. Next to Camila Cabello was Andra Day; Julia Michaels (at the end next to Andra), Bebe Rexha (at the end next to Cyndi), and the Resistance Revival Chorus were also singing with them. The performance (and the fact that they were all in white) was a nod to/in support of the #MeToo and Time's Up movements that were going on then. Russell Crowe was in the 2012 movie version of 'Les Misérables', but he was not in the movie version of 'Phantom of the Opera'; the actor who played "the Phantom" was Gerard Butler (in the movie version).

2024-09-05 18:49:11 +0000 UTCI think what's so great about Ed but what is also a commentary on women in the pop music is Ed Sheeran is a HUGE popstar. Like his concerts, despite mostly being him just playing a guitar, sell out like crazy at stadiums all over the world but he does not look like a conventionally attractive man and that's totally fine because he's so damn talented and his music moves people and he's a testament to how you don't have to look like Justin Timberlake if you are talented enough and you connect with enough people. On the flip side, of course, female pop stars have to be conventionally attractive in order to get ahead and their talent is, regrettably, secondary even in the case of someone like a Beyonce next to him. And even when they're talented like Beyonce is, they don't get taken as seriously because of their looks. It's a catch-22. Their journeys were wildly different for a few reasons but gender played a huge role and no one would say she's less talented or successful than Ed. If Bey had shown up dressed nearly as casually as Ed people would've said something but Ed can go on and look like he threw something on on his way out the door and it's whatever.

2024-09-05 17:47:59 +0000 UTCoh yeah, kesha performing at the grammy's in front of all the people in the industry who either supported her or told her to keep quiet and backed "dr" luke (can we all please agree to stop calling him doctor? idk why we all still indulge this ass with the unearned title.) hell, he may have even been there that night considering how many clients he's had. i'd be terrified and overwhelmed, too. i can't even imagine and yeah, katy perry putting out a "feminist anthem" with DR LUKE, of all fricken people?! it already sounded disingenuous but involving him is really the final nail in the coffin
