HEALTH NEWS PART 2

I just wanted to say that I've been hypo since the 90s, and it took up through 2000 or 2001 to find someone who would treat me instead of the test results. I also went with NP Thyroid instead of Synthroid, and it made a difference. One thing I found was that, for me, I did best with a little T3 added because it's not just the thyroid but also the T4 to T3 conversion *and* the ability of the cells to pick up the T3. I firmly believe that my collapse had to do with the Adrenal/Cortisol system because I got better with some different supplements for a while, but a change at work made me crash again. I completely identify with your medical journey. I was tested for heart problems, lung problems, Sjogren's Disease, and on and on. When I first went to a doc, I told her that I'd been able to ride a 160-mile weekend bike tour just before it started, but by then, I had no energy to run or bike, and my entire body hurt like I had a fever. The last time I saw that doc, she said, "I don't have any other options, but I recommend you exercise." Oh, and my morning temp was around 95.5, and I had no reflex reaction when she whacked my knee with the little hammer. I wish you well on the next part of your journey.

2024-09-06 05:48:30 +0000 UTCMy bestie has hypothyroid (has had half of it removed bc pre cancerous) and then her sister has Hashimoto's which can be...... ummm.... i have not seen that side of you. so fingers crossed! I have so many things that go along with thyroid issues (runs big time in my fam), but they've checked and *shrugs* nope. Chronic neck/shoulder pain is a bitch. No ice bucket challenges for Audrey ;) Your teeth look amazing! Mine do the same thing though. All back bottom molars have been removed for me too. I broke a tooth on nachos... I still can't afford to get them fixed, but they're not all broken and painful anymore. Manic episodes lolololol I have no understanding of mania or depression or anxiety I'm so curious about how this works out for you. Keep us posted!!!! Much much glad you're feeling better.

2024-09-04 17:15:56 +0000 UTCGlad you got answers! I have heard it can be hellish to get a Hashimoto's diagnosis, it sucks that it was the same for you. When you were describing things in the first part of the first video, I was like "Huh, this sounds like thyroid issues!"

2024-09-02 15:37:42 +0000 UTCWow I am so glad you have been seen and heard by your new health care provider!!! ❤️❤️❤️It is so frustrating when providers don’t listen to you. It is also wild your providers missed hypothyroidism and hashimoto’s -those should have been diagnosed by most providers.

2024-09-01 10:41:59 +0000 UTCYea I did have a doctor say that I was most likely running too high before and now that everything is “normal” it’s me getting used to the new normal. 😒

2024-08-31 12:32:08 +0000 UTCSilent watcher here. I never really comment, but I just wanna say I'm so glad you finally felt heard and you feel that there's some progress towards the health issues you've been dealing with. I hope this treatment is just the right fit for you and that you start to feel better!

2024-08-31 06:04:33 +0000 UTCI’m sorry to hear that you’ve still not been very well even after your surgeries. But I’m glad you’ve finally found a doctor that is paying enough attention to you to actually connect all the dots and give you a dx and begin to treat the underlying issue. I hope treatment goes well for you, and you start to feel a lot better, soon. I’m super surprised that your t3, t4 and prolactin weren’t super weird to that one doctor that told you to drink more water… Maybe she was under the impression that you’d had an oophorectomy and figured that you were just gonna have wacky hormones now and that was the new normal? I dunno. Either way, telling people to drink water and exercise for every single symptom is absolutely wild and it happens way too often.

2024-08-31 04:48:40 +0000 UTCI’m SO glad you finally have some answers and a plan to help. The way patients symptoms and worries are so frequently dismissed—especially with women’s health is appalling! I have to say that before I was aware of how frequent it is, I never pushed back or kept searching…it’s only after hearing about it that I started to stick up for myself more in doctors visits. So, thank you for sharing so much — it truly helps us listening to be more aware, and not feel so alone in the things we experience!! 🫶🏾🫶🏾 And if the treatment does impact how you are here, I hope you’ll give yourself lots of grace as you adjust! We definitely will 🥰

2024-08-30 23:25:04 +0000 UTCAudrey, I had thyroid cancer (and actually, it feels odd to say that because I had *a* tumor, and it was fully encapsulated—but I had a complete thyroidectomy in 2018). I’m on Synthroid and now also a T3 medication. I get it. I don’t regulate temperatures well—I get very hot or very cold easily. All the best to you. I’m SO glad you’ve found a good endocrinologist. It makes all the difference in the world. ❤️

2024-08-30 22:05:06 +0000 UTCI developed thyroid issues after my total hysterectomy. I was told by a doctor (after MANY years of the issues you talked about) that it is fairly typical to develop thyroid issues due to hormone level issues. Crazy how much I can relate!!
Steph Stephens
2024-08-30 22:02:22 +0000 UTCWow! Thanks for being so vulnerable and sharing. I’m SOOOO very happy you finally got it figured out and on a path of healing! You have me wondering if I have hypothyroidism too. LOL. Panic attacks, weight issues, etc. here. Finding the right doctor means everything. I swear, there’s just so much we some don’t know about the complexity of the human body.

2024-08-30 22:00:35 +0000 UTCSo happy for you! It’s super frustrating when you know something is wrong and supposed experts keep dismissing you. Cheers to developing a healthy relationship with your health care for a better future!

2024-08-30 21:53:36 +0000 UTCThe original doctors said your thyroid levels were normal? Or did they not really test it?
Amy Winslow
2024-08-30 21:52:00 +0000 UTCYea the other doctors had said the same thing to me but then another doctor randomly said during a check up for a skin issue " hey, did you know that you have low level Hypothyroidism?" ...um what? Thats when i knew I needed to see a top notch specialist.

2024-08-30 21:49:11 +0000 UTCHoly moly!!! Poor you lots going on! Sending lots of hugs huni, but at least you know now so you can put things in place mwah xxxxx

2024-08-30 21:48:10 +0000 UTCI got tested for low thyroid years ago when I gained weight while still dancing a ton. They said my levels were normal. I was thinking perimenopause or thyroid when you were first describing symptoms. I’m glad you found a good doctor and treatment.
