I agree that Chandler's arc this episode is so heartbreaking to watch in regards to Matty's passing. Especially the line "I'm gonna die alone", because he did π He talked about how he wanted a family and it looked like he was finally happy and healthy, having been sober for a while before it happened. I really recommend his book "Friends, Lovers and the Big Terrible Thing", for you but especially for Danny since he talks a lot about his addiction that he was struggling with, even while filming a large portion of the show. You will see his weight and looks change a lot throughout the course of the show due to this. Coincidentally I had just bought the book a few weeks before he died. I haven't finished it and it took me a long time to even start because I briefly looked through it and saw the first line is literally "I should be dead" and I just got chills and cried ππ I think it definitely gets better and better (the last couple of seasons are maybe not as good but still good imo) due to a combination of things. The show was super popular and at its peak at this point, bigger budget, better writing, the acting and their chemistry was better and they were definitely feeling their characters more. But here are some fun facts: Maggie Wheeler (Janice) was pregnant in real life at the time. She originally auditioned for the part of Monica but was given the role of Janice instead. Also, Courteney Cox had originally been offered the role of Rachel but declined in favor of playing Monica because she was drawn to her strong personality. When Phoebe says that she feels that she is not pulled but pushed by gravity, she is actually right.Β Albert Einstein's General Theory of Relativity states that what a person feels as gravity is actually the curvature of space-time due to the mass of the earth and this curvature is pushing the body toward the center of the earth. Women actually do have Adam's apples, everyone does. Without it you wouldn't be able to talk, as it protects your vocal chords. However, males' Adam's apples are bigger and therefore more noticeable.
