as a little girl i think we all think we’re gonna have kids but when i hit 16 i knew i didn’t want kids at all.

If I end up having kids, great. If I don't end up having kids, great.

I always seen myself as a mum - before my hubby and I got serious I said I wanted kids and if he didn't he should be with someone else. But as the years have gone in we have realised that A. We cannot afford to have a kid - and personally I don't want to just 'get by' I want to do everything I can for them. And B. With our combined health problems I feel we would really really struggle and again I feel that not fair on the child. We nearly adopted but decided against it. And we are happy in our life - we have our two fur babies and I love them squilions!

I’ve noticed a change. I used to want kids so bad and the family life and then one day it hit me that if I don’t have kids I’m okay

I've known I wanted kids since I was probably even a toddler. I work with kids as a paraeducator for an elementary school and I still want kids. I've just always had that motherly desire. My sister on the other hand doesn't want kids. From my understanding with her, part of it is that she doesn't like babies and another is she doesn't want to give a child her genetics.

I have always wanted kids. My first nephew was born when I was 8, and I remember knowing I wanted my own even then. And now I'm 36 with two kids. I find it interesting that the "mom instincts" kicked in for you just being around kids. That is something I've noticed in myself once I had kids. At parties and such, I'm always keeping tabs on everyone's kids, not just my own. I had a little of that before I had kids, I honestly think from watching my nieces and nephews so much growing up, but it definitely kicked into high gear after I had my own.

You don’t have to answer if it’s too personal, but did you have full onset menopause after you had your hysterectomy? Did you just get blasted with all the stuff people say happens when you go through menopause? I’m probably coming up on it soon at 43. I’d love to have a hysterectomy and get it over with. But I don’t know if it’s worse to have it all of a sudden. My mom had a hysterectomy, but they left her ovaries, so she didn’t have that problem at the time. She died 4 years ago, so I can’t ask her about if she had traditional menopause. I know she had hot flashes, but I don’t know about anything else. I don’t remember how long that lasted either. It was quite a while ago.

hellll yeah they do cliffhangers so well especially for a sitcom!!

I love this episode so much! Phoebe's comment about how lucky the baby is always makes me cry. I've always wanted kids and it's never really changed. I'm 31 now and I still want them but I just haven't been emotionally, mentally or even physically ready yet. I can barely even take care of myself. I've always dreamt of finding the right guy, falling in love, getting married and having kids (not necessarily in that order) but since I have a hard time meeting new people because I don't really go out that much due to my social anxiety and mental health in general, it's hard to meet someone. Fun fact: Leah Remini who plays the pregnant woman Joey helps originally auditioned for the role of Monica. She was in another great sitcom called The King of Queens. For the last 10 years or so she has publicly spoken out against the "Church" of Scientology, which she was a member of from age 9 and left in 2013. She has released a book and produced an Emmy Award-winning documentary series about it.

"do they every do cliffhangers in this show" lmao you have NO IDEA lol this show is famous for their end of season cliffhangers.

Well, I feel like it’s different for everyone and it’s still seemed as weird if a woman says I don’t want children, should be more acceptable in my opinion. In my case I’ve always wanted children, I grew up in a very big family I have literally about 30 cousins you get than me so babysitting was a given growing up. Now I’m 33, work as a professional nanny and even when I spend my days around children and enjoy my adult time when I’m off I still want kids of my own in the near future. The only time when I considered not having kids was for a couple of years before moving to the US since the economic and social situation in my country was really bad and the idea of bringing a child into that was just wrong.

I have always wanted a child ever since I was a teenager and it never changed. I am 28 now and it is stronger than ever but I’m also trying to face the reality that maybe it’s not in the books for me. As a gay man, I am not sure that I’ll ever be able to have a child. I know there are options but all of them are extremely difficult and complicated for gay couples let alone a single gay man. I just feel like I would be a great father and I don’t know if that’s ever gonna happen to me….

I am 36 I used to want kids biologically but as time went on and as I grew up I started thinking about fostering and adopting. I also have worked as a nursing assistant in the Maternity unit at my local hospital and I see everything that women go through with changes in thier hormones and everything they have to go through and that it certain things lasts months to years that I knew I definitely did not kids biologically. When I am finished nursing school I definitely want to be a nurse in Maternity I just don't want to go through that myself but help the moms who are going through it. A lot of my favorite tv shows have mentioned how terrible the foster care system is which has really made me want to foster a child and adopt them just so they can no longer be in the system anymore.

Lydia Shepard

Well I'm the complete opposite I have always loved children and allways wanted them but it never whent away in fact it's got stronger as I have gotten older baring in mind I'm only 21 so wether it will change or not I don't know but as of now it's getting stronger as I age.

danielle hall
