This episode was never the most popular, but I love the Kurt and Mercedes parts! Definitely the shows best friendship and the best part of season 1! Bust Your Windows is her most iconic solo too. Plus it really instills the special relationship that they have because she is the very 1st person that Kurt came out to. And Chris was barely out himself so it was a wild time! Most, if not then all, of the really dark lines were written by Ian Brennen. Especially the Sue stuff. He has stated that he has always had a knack for dark things. It’s a quality that glee somewhat loses over time. (A little bit.) Fun fact: this episode was referenced in s6, ep.12 2009 when Howard mentioned to Rachel that his dream was to be in a group like that. So it’s nice to see throwbacks later on. A little off topic, if you want to know more about Naya’s process in figuring out her early glee role, her book, Sorry Not Sorry, is a great read! Listening to the audiobook for Superfans or something would be a great reaction!

2024-07-04 23:48:35 +0000 UTCThe humor in season 1 is probably my favorite. I wish they would have kept more of the satire/dark comedy vibe going forward. But, also possible the show wouldn't have gone for as many seasons if they did. It's always fun going back and seeing them all young again. I even got a bit teary eyed during a scene with Finn. So hard watching him after Cory's passing. Especially knowing his struggles during the course of the show.

I'm glad you are trying to pay attention to the background more because Santana and Brittany have some really great background moments in this season! You can really see their relationship develop even more with those moments even though they do not have many lines.

And you usually shouldn’t tell people till the 3rd month. So she’s probably already 3 months pregnant which is why dad said he has 6 months
