ONCE UPON A TIME 03X15 WATCH PARTY

I always felt like they miscast Bae/Neal. There wasn’t any chemistry. We were supposed to believe that he was her great love all the while Emma and Hook had chemistry from the first moment we met him in S2.

Melissa Dawn

I'm a little late but I'm playing catch up and binging your watch parties right now. Thank you. I agree with the Neal thing. I wasn't attached to his character at all, his chemistry with Emma was just non-existent for me. Him dying did nothing to me, I just felt bad for Rumple and Emma. I think because the build up of Hook and Emma was too strong that Neal just felt in the way lol. And you are correct. We did see a glimpse already of who Robin was to Regina.

Gina Tso

Condescending how? Emma is the queen of condescending. I guess we’ve already forgotten how she’s treated her parents this season

It’s called Central Park in Burnaby.

Amy Winslow

So cool about meeting Lana ! I agree about Neal ! Which park in Van ?

This was the first time we saw Regina realize Robin Hood was the man who she had seen from behind when she was taken to her true love by Tinkerbell.

FINALLY CAUGHT UP!! Honestly, I think Neil’s story line was a bit too choppy/split for his character to really develop. I feel like most of his plot points are memories/flash-backs, and half of them are his as a child, so it’s a little harder to connect. But, in saying that, I feel like his death is one that leaves most of the story lines unfinished. Because, he didn’t get to reconnect with Henry, he really only saw his father in his dying moments, and his and Emma’s relationship, I don’t feel, really ever came to a conclusion. So, for me, it was half heart-wrenching from the “what-ifs” and half meh because he wasn’t really ever there completely.

I think they did what they did so Neal could die in Emma's arms, but it killed the lead up to his death. I think it would have been better if they had revived Rumple in Storybrooke and shown Neal's sacrifice that way. Maybe have him know the cost but choose to bring Rumple back anyways to save his family. Then it would seem more like a sacrifice.

I can’t wait until you get to season 4! It’s my favorite.

Amy Winslow

I have been exactly where Emma tells Henry that his dad died. It’s a park in Vancouver BC. I also met the actress that played Regina. I was watching an episode filmed. She walked past me when she was going back to her trailer. I told her that I loved her dress. She said, “I know, it’s beautiful, right?” I watched several episodes filmed in season 5. I loved Neil. I thought he did fine with the scene. 🤷‍♀️

Amy Winslow

We saw his face when Mulan joined up with him and his Merry Men (with the Lion tattoo shown)

So earlier in season 3, we got a backstory episode on Tinkerbell. She risked Blue’s trust by using magic to help Reginia find her soulmate and in return lost her wings, which she never forgave Regina for not even attempting to go into the pub to meet him. We knew her soulmate had a dragon tattoo but we never saw the man’s face until this episode, so it was a big reveal! I remember you had a long talk at the end about how you love the mental messages this season is showing e.g. how Regina’s happiness was a few feet in front of her but her mind was telling her it was too scary

Elisha Li

You’re right, we as the viewers got to see earlier that Robin was the one with the lion tattoo but Regina is just now finding that out. I always preferred Hook to Neal with Emma.

Benjamin Smith

I was never invested into the Neal/Emma relationship either, but I was SO SAD when he died because he never really got to further his relationship with Henry or explore his current relationship to Hook. Ughhhhhh.

Samantha Silafau

I don't know if it was the acting or his story, but I never connected to him. I felt for Emma, Henry, Rumple, and Hook when he died, but it was because I knew how much it hurt them. For me, Neal would have been a more relatable character if he'd been less condescending toward Emma after coming to Storybrooke, only to turn around and claim he loved her. I would have liked him more and been saddened by his death more if his story had been more about connecting with Henry and building a relationship with Rumple, I feel like that's where he could have made more of an impact on the audience and the story

Kate Baro

very amusing hearing you call Lumiere "lumineer"

Nicole M

Me: crying my eyes out Audrey: meh😀 I forgot how the actor of Neal left the show, I knew he wasn't in the other seasons but I couldn't remember what happened. I do remember that I cried just as much the first time as I did this time. Which was immediately over when u said u didn't much care lol Idk. I liked Neal. The acting didn't bother me at all.

patrick

Another point, is that bealfire was rumple's whole motivation this entire time and he's kind of the reason for story broke / once upon a time even existing. I just think it was very poor writing.

Savvy H

it felt very rushed and like bad writing. Which is rare for once upon a time. I wonder if the actor was unable to continue for some reason.

Savvy H

I think it was neal (the actors) acting and it was just a weird way to kill him off. Didn't give enough lead up. His character's story is defintely one of my favorites. Everything he went through as a kid, ending up in 1800s london, getting stuck in neveraland for 100+ years, then finding emma, falling for her, ect... I think his story is great... they just failed on writing a good death for him

Savvy H

And that's how Rumple was back alive and kicking. Neal is definitely dead because he paid the price with his life for reviving his father. And yes Regina's true love with Robin Hood was shown to us in the first half of this season when when we were in Neverland looking for Tinkerbell help and discovered her origin story and how she knew Regina.

Omar Rodriguez

Yeah I feel this show is trying to show how you can have different loves. I agree that it felt like Neal was Emma's first love. I don't think they were at true love/soulmate love.

Turnip Crazy

Having had five babies I feel like I could spout a lot of useless pregnancy facts, including that orange juice does in fact encourage fetal movement, but it's not usually that immediate, Zelena has her reasons for playing midwife, but the orange juice is just orange juice and the advice is the same as I've been given in the past

Kate Baro

"So they're true love?" I've always believed that there are many types of true love, First Love being one of those types. Neal/Baelfire was Emma's first love in my eyes, and that's true in it's own way, it's just not the forever type, I would expand on the types of true love, but that would be too spoilery, this is all just just my opinion though so *shrugs* take it with a pinch of salt

Kate Baro

Finally caught up and excited to continue this crazy show with you all!

Steph Stephens

Of course when I’m in my lunch! Might have to watch right or tomorrow after work
