TAYLOR DOC??

Today I plan on watching Taylor Vs Skooter doc with Danny ( @7deadlybananas ) and from what I’ve heard it’s not a great representation of Taylor’s side.

So… what doc should I watch next that would explain Taylor’s side better?

Comments

This is the CBS Sunday morning interview

KyraB

I just watched it and it wasn’t as bad as people made it out to be. One episode shows her side and the other shows his side.. and in the end they kind of leave it to you to decide how you feel…

Heather M

Her on Sunday morning! She talks about how she didn’t know it was happening

Meredith Hatley

I recommend her Billboard “Woman of the Decade” speech. It was during the Lover era and she talks about Scooter and does not mince words. She also highlights many women in music, including Lana and Billie. She is a badass in this speech: https://youtu.be/ZVpkFb9-fts?si=6Uz8tBPUpzCcHELt

Aloha Record Sargent

I think Good morning Amerca? Not sure

I watched it. The Taylor’s Version ep was good and pretty accurate and informative. The 🛴’s version was clearly meant to draw sympathy for him but they still couldn’t explicitly say anything different from her narrative they just tried to spin the facts and it was gross and obvious. Overall not as bad as it could be. I’d honestly watch any doc you react to even this one. The docs and interviews have already been mentioned but this one isn’t as bad as some Swifties made out it would be.

Maybe read some articles cause she spoke about it mostly through tumblr and I feel like the timeline is important. Linking one that I think is good but the biggest thing honestly is knowing about Taylor and Scott Borchetta. He didn’t even have a record label when he met Taylor. She had been signed turned down by labels for being too young. They would say there was no place in country music for a teenage girl. She was signed to another label as like a watch period and they seemed like when it came time, they wouldn’t let her write her own stuff. They seemed to have her on the back burner until she got older so when it was time to renew or not, she decided to leave and go with Scott. He said he believed in her but didn’t have a record company yet and they chose to sign with him anyways. Her dad invested in his record company. They both basically built each other’s careers. Anyways after being basically family for years, how everything eventually happened is crazy. For him to let Scooter Braun buy her work without telling her when they were supposed to be like family and scooter had been awful to her is crazy. - https://www.cosmopolitan.com/entertainment/celebs/a29807801/taylor-swift-scooter-braun-scott-borchetta-tyrannical-control-amas-netflix-doc/

This CBS interview I believe might be the most she ever talked about her side https://youtu.be/nDzhoofkRJI?si=7fXm8DH5J_VK3sX8

KyraB

What is the interview where they ask her about 🛴 and she sticks her tongue out like “gross” I can’t remember what all went into that interview but that might be decent 🤷🏻‍♀️

There is no documentary, explicitly, to explain Taylor's side so there's really no way to even the playing field in that regard. I think that's kind of the point (these men get to tell the world what "the true story" is and we consume it because of the salacious gossipy nature of it like we do about a lot of things regarding women to take them down a peg). I agree with others who said the Legal Eagle provides a good, factual, third party account of the legality of the situation! I think her only direct words about it are the two posts she made right after her masters were sold and sold to Scooter and an interview she did on CBS Sunday Morning. Her posts are on tumblr here: (1) https://taylorswift.tumblr.com/post/185958366550/for-years-i-asked-pleaded-for-a-chance-to-own-my (2) https://taylorswift.tumblr.com/post/189068976205/dont-know-what-else-to-do? The interview is here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nDzhoofkRJI.

I watched it. Her ex employee said nothing but good things about her and when it was her side of the story I think they did a good job personally. There may have been nothing done illegally, but personally, I think you come out on her side morally. When it was for his side, I feel like they went into different things that I personally don’t think had anything to do with the situation. Some of their counter arguments is that she always tries to put herself as a victim, which we’ve heard from the beginning of her career. And I personally think is just BS

There isn't really another doc you could watch but I agree with the comments above about Legal Eagle. Here is the link: https://youtu.be/M-A_RrOeoWw?si=28FEi7FYrmHN61j1

Just as an FYI taylor had nothing to do with this doc, nor was she consulted for permission. They also interviewed a past employee who is most likely violating an NDA of some kind 😬

LanaJulie33

If you haven't yet maybe the real Taylor swift wild dreams

Legal eagle is a really good video that you should check out!

Reese

Oh I’m still watching it and reacting. I just wanted suggestions for what to watch next to even the playing field.

Audrey McDonald ( Songs From A Suitcase)

legal eagle on youtube made a great video about the situation, obviously from a legal standpoint. there hasn’t been anything directly praised/produced by taylor or anyone associated with her (as far as i know).

Matt Marusic

That makes me sad because I was looking forward to watching the new documentary just in general
