I think you give Henry a little too much slack. He is very smart no doubt but he is still a very young child. Children act on impulse all the time so it's pretty realistic. Especially being that Henry is a person that acts on emotions. Emma acts on emotions all the time throughout this show (where Henry gets it from tbh) but she gets no backlash from it while Henry, a 11 year old boy gets pulverized for doing the same thing. You're entitled to your opinion though of course and I respect it! Henry is just my favorite character so I'm defensive of him, haha

2024-04-10 14:26:50 +0000 UTCRegarding Henry always running off he does so for 2 very good reasons . 1) he is often trying to save someone or many people . 2) He is in an automatic flight response from having his trust broken . Sometimes both are going on simultaneously! For example in season one he kept sneaking out to see Emma because he wanted to help her believe so she could break the curse and he felt betrayed by Regina .Another example of his sense of responsibility is when he stole the dynamite and took it to the well to destroy magic because he felt he needed to protect Regina and Snow ! I actually admire Henry for doing what he feels is for the greater good most of the time that he is disobedient. After all it is by doing what he does to find Emma and bringing her to Storybrook and then eating the apple turnover that leads to the breaking of the curse ! The rest of the time when he runs away it is from trauma so he is in flight mode . It may be that he becomes a brat later as a teenager but I don't see him as a brat at this point .
