Her vocals, the musical swell through the song, her heartbreaking lyrics and the change in cadence make this a masterpiece 💗💗. "38 Summers and I'm not in my bed"... can you imagine never being home? She's 42. This was written. 4 years ago and is just being released now. The vulnerability in her voice... I had never thought about Beyonce missing her childhood. I was too busy poppin to her music. She was working hard at this way before age 16, which is kind of sad to me.

Dreams could be all the normal things she didnt get to experience. Fears can be her gaining her confidence in her career and longevity.

Basically 16 carriages represent 16 years of her life and all of the sacrifices she’d had to make to create a legacy and a family at the same time. So it’s super cool the lines change between ‘dreams’ and ‘fears’ because each carriage (or year) contains both dreams and fears - she’s working so hard to create art and love and there’s a tension with this, which is the same tension she creates musically! I would def give this a few more listens because it’s become one of my favorite Beyonce songs of all time :)
