Convention Hypnosis

"You look hot as hell," Kimberly said as I buttoned the red coat up to complete my Scarlet Witch (MCU variety) cosplay.

"I feel hot as hell, this coat is not breathable," I said. Beneath it I had worn very little to try to cut down on both bulk and the heat retention. I knew that the convention center was going to be crowded, hot and stuffy and while I wanted to wear my Wanda Maximoff costume I didn't want to pass out from heat exhaustion.

Dressed as Sue Storm, the Invisible Women, from the Fantastic Four my friend shrugged and adjusted her own blonde hair to look more like the woman on the comic's page. Dressed as two of the women of Marvel we hoped to have a good shot at winning the Cosplay Competition and were planning on taking part in the big Marvel Cosplay photograph that they took every year on the steps of the convention center. Last year's photo had been featured in the pages of actual Marvel comics.

The comic convention was the annual nerd summit of our city. It was when everyone could let their geek flags fly and celebrate the characters they loved. I had always loved the Scarlet Witch but had particularly loved her in the Avengers movies and was happy that I'd managed to put together a good bit of cosplay this year to celebrate that love.

The convention itself was packed. We got in as early as possible, and wandered the aisles. Kimberly got a sketch of the X-Man Jean Grey done by an artist she liked and I got my copy of New Avengers #1 signed by the writer Brian Michael Bendis, who was now at DC. At the pre-determined time we went outside and took part in the Marvel Cosplay photograph featuring nearly fifty different people, and many many Spider-Mans.

"It's cheaper to grab something to eat out here," Kimberly said. By that point we were both getting hungry and the food in the convention center tended to be both unhealthy and expensive.

I agreed and we walked the two blocks to a wrap and salad place nearby, and ate quickly wanting to get back for some panels and the cosplay contest. We had to be careful eating, to make sure not to get salad dressing on our costumes.

As we walked back I spotted two guys, one of which was filming the other using his phone. As we approached the one being filmed called out to us, "Hey it's the Scarlet Witch and Invisible Woman, those are great costumes."

I smiled, "Thank you."

"And these are the perfect two for some magic, do you two ladies want to see some magic?" he asked, adding, "I mean you are the Scarlet Witch."

"We have to get to the convention," Kimberly said, not wanting to stop.

The street was busy enough that I figured we weren't about to get kidnapped or mugged, so I slowed, "Okay, but only one trick."

The guy on camera laughed, "One trick, okay well no pressure I guess. Okay, let's try the Magnetic Hands trick. I'm like Magneto, I can use magnetism to control your hands."

"That's not how magnetism works," Kimberly said.

The guy ignored her and said, "Why don't you both interlock your fingers together and bend your elbows. In a moment I'll ask you to stick your index fingers up, but not yet."

He demonstrated how to do this as his friend filmed us, and we followed suit. I laced my own fingers together and bent my elbows as shown.

"Now raise your index fingers, and pretend and imagine that the tips of your fingers have very strong magnets attached to them. Can you pretend and imagine that? You're cosplayers you should be good at pretending and imagining."

"Sure," Kimberly said.

"Yup," I agreed.

"Now stare between the fingers and imagine those magnets growing stronger and stronger, pulling your fingers together. Imagine them, pulling your fingers together as you focus and take deep breaths, focus," he said.

I felt the tug between my finger tips and noticed the fingers coming together, quite without my say so. I laughed in surprise as they did. As the tips of my fingers touched he put his hand over my hands and pushed them downward.

"Let your hands relax, very good," he said. He repeated the process with Kimberly whose fingertips were by now touching.

"Wow, that was cool," I said.

"I mean if it was cool you'll want to try another trick," he said.

"Sure," I agreed.

"Put your hands out like this, palms towards each other and now imagine the magnets are even stronger and in your palms. Both of you hands out and stare between your two hands, imagining the magnets are there, using your pretending and imagination," he said.

I was first to comply but Kimberly followed suit. He kept talking about the magnets and having us focus and stare at the empty space between our hands. I felt the tug begin, just like before, and giggled again as my hands quite on their own began to drift together just as he described.

"Now as your hands come together in a moment you're going to relax, feeling so good, and just rest a moment. You'll close your eyes and find that your hands are stuck together, stuck tighter and tighter," he said as my palms touched. I closed my eyes and felt more relaxed, comfortable.

At his prompting I tried to pull my hands apart, but found myself unable to. The harder I tried to pull them apart the more I actually seemed to be pressing them together. He then told me that I could try to open my eyelids but that I would fail, as they were stuck together, tighter and tighter.

I struggled, trying to open my eyes, but nothing happened. My eyes and hands both seemed to be betraying me.

"It's tiring, trying to unstick your hands and eyelids," he said, "so tiring that in a moment I will say the word sleep and your hands will relax, your eyes and neck will relax and you will fall into a deep sleep. You will stay standing up, stay firmly on your feet, balancing perfectly, but you will be relaxed and in a wonderful comfortable trance," he said.

I wasn't sure what I felt about that, but before I could really consider what was happening I felt one of his hands pressing my own hands downward and another on my head pushing it forward as he spoke, "Sleep."

I blinked and shook my head, noticing Kimberly also shaking off the effects of his magnetic trick. Had he just tried to hypnotize us?

"We'd better go," I said.

"Have fun ladies," he said and his friend snickered.

"He was cute," Kimberly said, "so was his friend."

"I think they just tried to hypnotize us," I said, "I don't want some random guy messing with my brain."

She shrugged, "You've been reading too many comic books. That stuff isn't real."

I ignored her and hustled back into the convention center to get to the Cosplay Contest to make sure we were there in time for the first round.

Kimberly was eliminated in the second round, and I made it to the fourth before losing out. It was a good showing and for our first time taking part we felt proud. We attended two panels, one about Batman the other on the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and then took an Uber to a party that Kimberly knew about.

As we entered there were other people from the comic convention, some of them also in costumes. It was in a house near the college, and it took me a moment to realize that it was a frat house.

"We're at a frat party," I said.

"So?" Kimberly asked.

"I mean, we graduated college two years ago, we're a bit old," I said.

"We could be grad students," she said.

"How did you even hear about this party anyway?" I asked.

She didn't answer for a moment then glanced at me, "I don't know. I honestly just knew about it."

I was about to turn and leave when I heard a voice that sounded familiar, "Ah the Scarlet Witch and the Invisible Woman, glad you could make it."

"You?" I asked, seeing the magician guy from the street earlier today.

"Me," he confirmed.

"This is a mistake we're just leaving," I said.

"I have more tricks for you though," he said.

"Sorry, we're going to go home," I said, grabbing Kimberly by the wrist and turning and pulling her towards the door. It was starting to dawn on me that the reason Kimberly had known about the party was that she'd been told to attend it while she was hypnotized. Which means that I was also hypnotized and couldn't remember it.

I pulled my phone out of my costume coat pocket and launched the Uber app.

"Magnetic hands," he said and my hands suddenly were pulled together. The strength of the pull caused me to drop my phone as my palms pressed together. Bending down I tried to pull my hands apart so that I could grab my phone, but couldn't manage it.

I glanced at Kimberly seeing her own hands similarly stuck.

"You let us go," I said firmly struggling to break free from the invisible bonds, but just like before the harder I pulled at my hands the tighter they stuck together.

Calmly the magician guy reached out and placed his hand on my hands, pushed down and said, "Sleep."

My eyelids shut and I felt myself falling forwards towards him, and his firm body supporting me as I drifted down through the floor deep into his voice which began to wrap me up like a blanket as I went to sleep.

We were alone when I opened my eyes. I could hear the party going on, but we had moved to another room in the large house. Kimberly was not around, and it was only me and the guy. Even as I came to, my consciousness returning, my body was in the middle of something surprising.

I opened my red coat, my hands moving on their own once more.

"Nice costume, it's almost a shame to take it off," he said, "though obviously keep doing that."

I scowled, "You'll never get away with this."

This caused him to laugh, "Wow, that's cliched dialogue, but I love it. Keep going my Wanda, keep trying to resist my control even as you find that you must obey. You must obey."

"I must obey," I agreed, cursing myself for saying it. My own voice sounded so distant and flat, but it was not really my own. I was just a puppet for the hypnotist, like a character in a comic story about mind control.

That thought sent a shiver through my body, turning me on. I had always loved stories involving mind control and brainwashing of heroines, and had often pictured myself in place of the characters being controlled, so to suddenly be at the mercy of a powerful hypnotist was... more of a turn on than I wanted to admit.

As my coat fell to the floor he stood, apprising my body. Wrapping an arm around my waist he pulled me in close to him, his hand going to my chest, slipping under my bra as he groped me. Pressing his lips to mine it all came flooding back and suddenly an orgasm hit me.

I moaned as we kissed, my knees almost buckling. John steadied me, holding me upright as he pulled me to the bed and laid me down.

"Is that what you wanted?" he asked.

"Fuck yes," I moaned finally recognizing my boyfriend. A student getting his Masters in Pyschology I'd been so turned on when he had told me he had been learning about hypnosis. I had invented several scenarios of us to play, almost all of them involved me not remembering that he knew hypnosis.

"The costume is damn sexy," he said, pulling off my bra and then hiking up my skirt.

"Hmmm," I said, feeling turned on again as the orgasm faded and another began to build.

I didn't wonder where Kimberly and hey boyfriend Mark were. Likely they'd found their own private place top layout their fantasies. I simply enjoyed the feeling of my boyfriend pulling off my panties and then spreading my legs for him.

"Good Wanda," he said teasing as he slid down into me.
