They did this as the lady who played Jean actually died in real life. They wanted to pay tribute to her

Such a powerful episode and amazing numbers! It’s a shame the audio was off, the higher pitch took away some of the depth in the numbers

Sky Allen

I don't think I've ever seen this episode not even right now. I only skip to some performances on YouTube and even the Quinn Finn breakup on Yt clips. It's a weird filler episode spent on a character that was barely on the show.

Capri Zonica

I’m not sure how much them writing out Terri and Jean out of the show was to clear the way for new characters next season. They were both such minor characters at this point. As someone mentioned above, the actress playing Jean was unwell, so was unable to continue playing the character. And the Terri storyline had been played out by this point. Having her still around while they develop whatever is going on between Will and Emma would just feel repetitive had it continued. Pure Imagination is definitely one of my favourite group numbers in its simplicity and harmonies. It is glee at its best.

Love this episode and everyone's "auditions". Lea has an amazing version of "My Man" that she sang live at a Barbra Streisand tribute, and it's honestly so good. It would be fun to see if you wanna check it out sometime.

I will say I don't hate Jessie's mean comments during the auditions, but we're supposed to hate them because the comments are mean. But Will gives no constructive criticism. He's too nice to every make a decision and that's what annoyed me about him in this episode.

Turnip Crazy

I don't think I have ever been able to watch this episode without crying! Pure Imagination gets me every single time. I love that Tina and Artie have solos in this song. I think they sound so beautiful!

Moscato Debs

I like Kurt's Some People ❤️ its very high. It's not my favourite, but I still like it. I think that they wrote characters out that they could get new ones in. Like Darren in main cast in season 3.

Moona

there are some songs from glee that just stick with you and my man is definitely one of them

This was the first episode of Glee to ever make me cry. It happened a couple more times throughout the show but I felt this one strongly. I loooove the songs from this one so much! I listened to “Pure Imagination” a lot when it came out, I think this cover is beautiful. The solos are perfection, there wasn’t a bad one anywhere in it. The reaction you did for “My Man” was Lea’s live performance for Barbra Streisand, which sounds nearly the same here as it does live. Back to Black and Try a Little Tenderness are regularly on rotation for me, I love them! And I’m getting married in October so I plan on playing My Man, this version, at my wedding. It’s a Gleek dream lol. New York is next! Yay!!! Thank you for the double feature!

With Quinn, I think she substituted the absence of her child with prom queen and king. She never dealt with that loss properly and found something else to fixate on instead. Which of course isn’t healthy in the least bit. My Man definitely ranks as one of Rachel’s top performances in the show. She certainly killed it, and I liked that even Kurt had to admire her talent. Sue and Will really do have this strange frenemy relationship, which is showcased beautifully in their song at the end of the series. I think Sue might actually appreciate that he’s given her a purpose because coaching the Cheerios was starting to bore her.

the sync is off just by like a split second. I wasn't bothered by it after a few minutes. I love this episode, but it's also one that I can't watch very often. I do feel like the Jesse storyline and the Jean storyline shouldn't have been together. I know they needed a more comedic B story for the episode, but I think this particular one didn't mesh well with the funeral. They had to write Jean off because the actress had Alzheimer's. She died just a couple years ago, right before the pandemic hit. One thing that always makes me roll my eyes about is the weird cliffhangerish Quinn "plans for new york" as you see in the next episode [I only mention cause I see you already watched it and already posted it] it's like a weird C or D storyline that gets like 30 seconds of airtime.

Haughtbreaker Nic

I’m going to reupload this one and see if that helps it link up.

Sorry I think the audio is out of sync and the voices are pitched higher ?

Yes ! It's a bit out of sync. The speaking does not match the mouth...
