2023-05-30 07:26:06 +0000 UTCIdk if bc the writers were writing from their experiences/age so it felt outdated, or if my school was just an exception (highly doubted bc it was a small Texas town circa 2009-2013) but our high school culture was nothing like that of Glee. It was just normal and bullying was never an issue. If people were mean, it was within their own friend groups/ex-friends that they were feuding with. Although there weren’t many out gay kids, the ones that were weren’t bullied. I feel like that might partially be due to the fact that since our school wasn’t super huge, everyone intermingled outside of their own cliques and knew each other quite well. Prom also was pretty chill. My friend and I were single and weren’t into any of the guys at our school so we went as each other’s dates. She actually ended up getting crowned prom queen, believe it or not! That part was pretty fun bc then I got to jokingly brag that my date was the prom queen after 😂👸🏾

But I just love how they foreshadowed Mercedes and Sam’s relationship and then showing it more on the next season. I’ve watched glee over 10 times already and I still love it ofc R. I. P. to Cory aka. Finn(The Quarterback) and R. I. P. to Naya aka. Santana(Snix-her alter ego) who is one of my favorites.

2022-12-27 01:49:39 +0000 UTCi love this episode so much! i think it's an amazing end of a season right here! really glee at its best! the performances were good and fun, the cast looks like they're having so much fun, great drama, good acting (although i really don't buy Quinn or Kurt's crying and emotional scenes in this ep) and just the club being amazing! also yay Jesse is back! i absolutelu love Jonathan's voice when he's doing Jesse! i think he has an amazing voice, but there's just something about his Jesse's voice that is so much better, i'm obsessed! also, him and Lea are always a great duo! it's always fun to think about the actors life when you watch the show, like Lea/Jonathan, Naya/Heather, Jenna/Kevin.. they're all best friends! also some cast members dated.. it's always fun to see them interact on screen knowing what's going on behind the scenes :)

2022-06-22 13:16:39 +0000 UTCMy favorite part about this episode was the conversations after Kurt was announced Prom Queen. Kurt decided that he was going to accept the crown not only for himself but also as a redemption for Blaine and what happened at his old school. Brittany being real with Santana that at the end of the day it really is just a stupid crown that you can buy at the party store was just fantastic and incredibly smart of her and that she believes in her and wants her to embrace all the awesomeness that she is. This was also a rare truly selfless moment for Rachel. She was amazing with Quinn and reassuring her that even though she’s the prettiest girl she’s ever met that she is so much more than that. My senior prom from an outsider’s perspective probably looked like the perfect prom experience, just what you would expect from the movies and tv shows. I had an ice blue Cinderella dress that matched my eyes and I did my hair like Kat’s in 10 Things I Hate About You, rose and all. I went with a group of friends, 2 girls and 2 guys. Turns out that the other girl and one of the guys were secretly trying to play matchmaker for me and the other guy. I had only dated one other guy for a month 2 years before and dumped him after a month because he didn’t like my friends. Sorry dude, friends come first. So this guy that I went to prom with was super sweet and such a gentleman and we ended up mostly kissing on the dance floor instead of dancing. The problem was, I was SO bored! He basically held me hostage when all I really wanted to do was dance with my other friends. I really wasn’t into him at all, or any guy for that matter. 🤣 Oh, to be able to go back in time and have prom redo…..

As someone who is Scottish, I really don't see anything wrong with wearing a kilt to a formal event. Although I don't know that he could have been a true Scotsman at a high school prom lol

2022-06-21 09:09:59 +0000 UTCSo My senior prom was interesting. It was a Titanic theme (at the time i had never seen the movie, so it meant nothing to me). It was at the Brown Palace, which is a very fancy and expensive hotel in Denver, CO. Most of the Seniors and Juniors at my school didn't RSVP, so they had to open it up to Sophomores. My date was one o my Sophomore friends at the time. We both matched according to color (which wasn't planned, it was just a happy accident). I don't remember much about that night, but I do remember the decorations. Each table was decorated with the "Heart of the Ocean". Plastic ones of course. At the end of the night I went around to each table and stole them. I don't remember what I did with them afterwards, but I had about eight blue heart necklaces. Over all, it was a very memorable night. It means more to me now, after seeing the movie lol

I agree with most people in the sense that Rachel showed tremendous growth as a person and a friend in this episode and in the season, but it’s like 1 step forward and then 3 steps back with her character growth sometimes (a lot of the characters have that problem, you’ll see 🙄) Jar of Hearts is a great song, Lea covered it beautifully, but it’s weird because it’s a break up song people are slow dancing too…it just makes me laugh lol. Love Rolling in the Deep though! Artie did not deserve a second chance, glad Brittany stood her ground and danced with other people’s dates lol. I did the same thing, I went with a friend group and one of my guy friends from theater production had a girlfriend in college at the time who couldn’t make it, so we went together unofficially as friends and had a great time, I danced with a ton of people. Prom Queen was NOT a huge deal but we did have one. I also went to school in California, in a more conservative town, but as far as people being gay I can’t say that any of us had any issues with that. I was a theater nerd, practically all my guy friends were gay and most of them were pretty popular. Perk of living in CA I guess. Next episode has THE BEST SONGS EVER! I love it, but it did make me cry when I first saw it. Thank you for the reaction!

Bad food, no punch, on a Thursday, and very little dancing because the DJ didn't play anything people wanted to hear. And here, prom king and queen isn't a thing! Not that I ever could have won, but still!

The growth of Dave Karofsky is one of my favorite character arcs on the show. I think that the juxtaposition of Santana and Karofsky for this storyline is really nice to see since they are both struggling with accepting who they are. Some fun songs and tons of drama in this episode, but it's nearing the end of the season so you know that they always try to pack in the drama at the end.

2022-06-21 01:05:02 +0000 UTCI went to Prom with my friend. And I just danced and hung out with my friends. Having a date is so overrated. Glee and other teen shows and movies hyped prom up so much, but personally it was just okay. In regards to the Santana and the twin dress, there’s a dress shop in my area that has girls write down their school to prevent any girl from having the same dress as another at their prom. That’s where I and a bunch of girls at my school got ours. Honestly season 2 is their best season. While everyone's peak vocals actually come later, the best storylines and drama happened in season 2 for me. And I think this was when they were at their comedic best. Though Prom really highlighted how messy they all are and why maybe you shouldn't inter-date in a club this small. Rachel really doesn’t get enough credit for all the times she’s there for people who don’t necessarily always deserve it. I can’t say I would be as gracious if someone slapped me. Also, I'm just excited that we're almost on season 3 and that there's only a couple of episodes until you watch the 3D concert. You'll love it because of all the live performances.
