It had cement benches for several stadium style seating rows, and a few colored benches and then some chairs in the very front. Each color group was roped off from each other. I believe our section was orange. There was a huge area in the middle of the oval of seats, and three really big rings made of wood. That day I watched the PT Barnum and Baily Circus for the only time in my life. I fell in love with the Trapeze and the Lion Tamers. That was in 1977. It's very last show (ending 146 years of run time) was May 21, 2023. The end of an era. When I watch this movie, I get that little girl thrill once more of being so close to the action (our seats had no one sitting in the color group in front of us, so we got to see everything.) Today's generations might not understand that thrill, but to a kid that had only three television channels on a 13 inch black and white screen and no video games to even speak of, the circus held all the glitz and glamour of the world in a tiny pocket of a couple hour show. I am glad they made this musical to honor the original creator of the circus in America.

2023-04-07 21:38:10 +0000 UTCIncase y’all didn’t know, the woman in the movie that sang “Never Enough” wasnt the one actually singing it and “Rewrite The Stars” from Zendaya and Zac was actually sung live while doing the trapeze. Z is an amazing artist.
