I think that once you've got TIE bombers this close and shooting at your station with their little pew pew laser cannons, you've probably really screwed up somewhere.
As an interesting(?) aside, I was debating with the TFTC game team about where exactly the laser cannons are located on a TIE Bomber. I don't think you ever see one firing shots in any of the movies or media, and there aren't any cannons on the model used for filming Empire Strikes Back (see below).
In the TIE Fighter 1994 game, the cannons are on the wings. Then in the recent Star Wars Squadrons game the cannons are under the cockpit like a normal TIE fighter, even though there are no cannons on the actual game model.
Long story short, we decided to just stick the guns under the cockpit!

Following that train of logic, would that mean that Tie Bombers were manufatured in the United Kingdom since the cockpit is on the right? And would that also imply that if Tie Bombers were manufatured in the United States of America, the cockpit would be on the left?

2024-10-10 14:56:07 +0000 UTCThe TIE bomber specifically reminds me of some of the weirder asymmetrical fighters from World War II, and I think most of them had their guns directly in front of the cockpit so I think it works

It also shoots from under the cockpit in the Dark Forces 2 cutscene so that’s what I went with, even though the two holes in the connection element between the pods is the only real thing that looks like it could work on the model.
