EARLY ACCES AND HELP ME!!!

EARLY ACCCES SNEAK PEAK / I NEED YOUR HELP NOW! We whipped together a deep dive comparing Virgin Galactic's SpaceShipTwo and Blue Origin's New Shepard and we need your eyes on the video to help us spot any errors before we make it go live! SO PLEASE, watch this - https://youtu.be/4JbM7TPTWFQ

AND put your comments (in chronological order) here! - https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1u85353r6ZuThIaa-6MbI9HjxiddtALPrV5SOFWSECqA/edit

Thank you everyone!!! I'm trying to get this out tomorrow already so it can get some steam rolling before Sunday's launch attempt!

EARLY ACCES AND HELP ME!!!

Comments

Where is that coming from? Boeing perhaps?

Great video, as always. And thank you for that. BUT I'm not in agreement with treating the pursuit of Space Tourism Ego Trips as if it was serious scientific progress. So I'll wish you luck going forward and have unsubscribed. Will be back when we get serious.

I like the video as it is, great job!

Great work Tim. Do you think, with correct permits, and governmental approvals, Spaceship Two will be able to take off/Land from almost any country? Will New Shepherd basically be limited to the US? i.e. I could see Spaceship Two even being able to launch from/land at small islands like Hawaii/Guam which may be more difficult for New Shepherd due to the surrounding oceans? Apologies if you already covered that in the video and I missed it. I also posted this in Discord, in case you are wondering about the duplicated comment elsewhere.

Thank you Tim for an excellent job. One question I have is can the VG fuel/engine be expanded? Another 15 seconds of impulse might get the spacecraft to the 100 Km Karman line.

Am I the only one who noticed that Tim is off centre and then couldn't unsee it?

While both spacecraft are "fully" reusable, the VG hybrid-engine is thrown away after each flight, being replaced like a cartridge. Which pushes the boundary of "fully" reusable as the motor essentially isn't.

It is also worth noting that the FAA, US Air Force and Nasa recognize 50 miles (about 80 km) as the definition of space and that those surpassing 50 mi have received astronaut wings. So there is more than one definition of space, rather than just the Karman line. Also the Karman line definition is under review globally as a lot of research suggests that the atmosphere is negligible around 80km.

Another great video Tim. A few suggestions. As noted above, Burt Rutan definitely deserves a shout out as the designer of Spaceships 1 and 2 and White Knight 1 and 2, as well as dozens of the most innovative aircraft in history.

looks good

I agree with Mark

Very nicely done. I did not notice any errors or discrepancies.

Your transitions between each segment could be briefer. You might add some more pretty charts for us geeks.

Good video Tim - I'm pretty familiar with Burt Rutan and Scaled Composites and didn't notice any furphies in your descriptions of the VG launch system. Small bit of trivia: in 2006 I was incredibly lucky to hang out at Mojave for a few days with the people involved in the Voyager non stop non-refuelled around the world flight, including the Rutan brothers and Mike Melville (who piloted Spaceship1). I got to check out White Knight 1 at the Scaled hangar. There are static air pressure ports for the altimeter on the inner surfaces of the tail booms, and in very small writing above the opening are the words "Dilithium Crystal Injection Port" :-).

Looks good Tim !

Didn't can't any errors that I know of. Good video. I love how when your going quick and short it's still 30 min lol
