109) Pai's Introduction - Rough Animation

Pai can be a tad full of herself but its okay! She'll grow out of it... hopefully!

This MASSIVE shot was done by the wonderful BEAUTYSNAKE and took over several months to get right. I remember discussing the particulars of this shot with them, identifying Pai's intent, wondering how Razz interacts and getting the timing down. Acting shots Ive found to always be more time-consuming than action shots because there is far less to hide behind (like snappy movements and camera tricks) and far more to play convincingly like personality and "truth". BeautySnake did an amazing job here. Please go follow them as they transition to their next project!

On my end, I have been busy finishing up some rough animations for Cham and Jarrad's scenes. Sorry for missing the January drop. As you can imagine, times are tough here in America so its been a challenge keeping my mental health in check while I work on this film. I was also INCREDIBLY sick at the top of Jan. When I told some friends I almost died, a couple people thought I was just using hyperbole. I had to tell them my lung partially collapsed while I was sleeping all thanks to a sinus infection and bronchitis. Please be thorough in your doctor visits, yall. I didnt push for antibiotics on my first visit and Im literally paying for it through a second visit with Urgent Care. Ask questions. If you think you need stronger meds, dont assume anything. Ask for them.

We are almost done with rough animation for the the teaser! Our task chart only has about 4 scenes that need finishing and 2 of those already nearly done. Afterwards I can concentrate on Clean-Up Animation and the smaller tasks and animations for the Kickstarter.

I've also been nailing down creators who can help market the Kickstarter once it begins either later this fall or early next year. Things are picking up thankfully and we have a long ways to go. But Im feeling really good about it all. A recent recurring and intrusive thought Ive been having when I think about my role with TWOM is:

"You're ready".

And I believe it. I just hope the world is ready. But maybe it doesnt have to be.
