57) Brand New Backgrounds

We have some new moody backgrounds courtesy of Sarah Gavagan's talents that will be on full display in the upcoming trailer. What yall are seeing here are a combination of finished pieces and some sketches before she really got cookin!
It's times like these where I wish we had a centralized working environment to produce this film instead of working remotely. It was a little difficult on my end to convey exactly what was needed to happen on this round since specific details in these scenes were a little out of context (as most clips in trailers are), yet they still needed to make sense in terms of the overall story so we aren't doing double-work later.
One example, the scene with the rock will showcase Cham and Pai but we needed to make sure a following clip matched the lighting according to our color-scripts.
Well, maybe it was more difficult for me explaining it. Sarah was extremely patient and attentive to my needs, even when I tripped over my words which may have forced her to double-back and redo some colors here and there. But she was persistent and versatile enough to switch gears and adapt to my requests. I still stand in awe of what she is able to do! She made it all seem easy though I'm sure it took some real effort putting this all together!
I'm super happy with what she developed and when these scenes are done, I think yall will be too!
