29) The Crows are ready for battle!
Added 2021-01-19 00:50:36 +0000 UTCThis was a fun one ! I actually enjoyed animating the mean old burbs but I wasn't expecting it to take me as long as it did on the compositing end. I consider this shot 85% complete. When Im animating, Im always thinking about what I could do to PLUS a motion or a scene so I took the opportunity to add a little bounce to the last crow coming into frame and even to some animations on Cham. My wife mentioned he was looking rather stiff before but I didn't want to add too much motion to him until last minute. That's when I put in things like his eye blink and his bead of sweat moving. The way I compose my files in After Effects (rendering PNG sequences from TVPaint) made it difficult to make solid, lively changes to Cham; I probably would've been better off animating him completely in TVPaint since After-Effects decided to keep me up til 3am with render issues.
For now, I'll keep it as is and address adding in new frames of animation once the backgrounds are complete! Gotta move on from this shot! Also, progress is going swimmingly on the upcoming website and Pai's voice-actress and I have been making plans as well! We got a lot more to do but I can feel this big little thing coming together.
