Old chapters - hear me out
Added 2023-11-26 02:23:34 +0000 UTCAs I mentioned in the old devlogs, I would like to go back to older chapters and rework them in the future. However, I presented my idea to my testers today, and it turned out that the way I planned to do it was not very good, so the idea ended up in the trash. However, the guys suggested a slightly different way, and it seems to me to be the best solution.
Chapter 3 will bring a full rework of Ch1 and Ch2. Yes, I'll need a little more time for development, but I don't see it as critical. The story of the game will not change. Almost all characters have received some sort of upgrade, with a few exceptions. I've already started working on the rework, and I'll alternate it with the development of Chapter 3. In order to really speed up the whole thing and not waste time, I'll also work on Christmas and New Year, and I believe that we will have a new update soon.
Those who are interested in the reasons for the rework should read on. Otherwise, you have read all the essential information.
There are several reasons...
1. I started as a person who had almost no experience with Daz Studio, Blender, Photoshop, writing, or coding. I can't claim that I'm an experienced "developer" today, but I'm definitely more experienced than I was at the beginning. I always wanted to do many things, but I didn't know how. The number of errors in the old chapters is unbelievable, especially when it comes to coding. I'm still a student in this part, but a few steps further. I have had experiences today that I don't want to leave in a drawer somewhere. The more I go on, the more I perceive the mistakes I made as a beginner, and I get depressed because I know that today I would have done it a few levels better, which was already shown during the development of Ch3. So this is perhaps one of the main reasons why rework is done.
2. Money. Anyone just starting out is pretty limited when it comes to money. I don't claim that I have more of them today, but it definitely improved during that time of support, and I always tried to invest everything back. Thanks to the support, I could make better characters, a better environment, etc. And it's incredible, but there are still many visual changes that I haven't shown you. But, one day, you will see them, and I think many people will be surprised and satisfied (of course there will be those who would rather complain 24/7. What else is left for them, right?)
3. The community and opinions that have reached me during that time are not such a big part of the whole thing, but I perceive them and accept many of them. Therefore, I would also like to base this entire project on the fact that the player will always have a chance to make a decision.
If you have any questions, don't be afraid to ask. Have a nice rest of the weekend. I will let you know how it goes in the next devlog.
