Nate, I completely understand. Some things are going to land right for you, and some ...just aren't. That's Star Wars. It's big enough for everyone. Technical "how do they do that?" spoilers below. All I can say about the Halcyon experience is that it was fully worth every penny. The level of detail and care that goes into every moment on that ship is fully worth it. There are probably 3 behind the scenes tech/admin personnel for EACH and EVERY member of the visible cast. Based on our interactions, and my knowledge of theatre and live immersive projects, it appears to ME that there are multiple people behind the scenes, monitoring each conversation a cast member has. How do I know this? timing. Every time I had a conversation with one of the named characters (there are about 25 of them) I would get a message "from them" about five minutes later. Offering me a project or job to do that was RELEVANT to our conversation. That means, by definition, there is a crew in a whole other room, listening in. Identifying ME by my locator in my magic band, picking the job for me based on the conversation we had, and sending me the job, then responding (with set phrases, but those responses are in real time). Now does that costumed character I just talked to have the time to do all that? no. He/she is current conversing with someone else down the hall. This is WHY the experience is so expensive....they have to pay all those people that you don't ever see. I hope I haven't ruined the experience for anyone. And this is just MY take on the logistics of the show. But it is intense and beautiful and (for me) it was well worth it. so seeing the ship that I thoroughly enjoyed being on portrayed or even mentioned is always going to pull at me.

This is great to hear! Super cool that the decor in the comic matches the in person experience too! As someone who probably won’t visit the Halcyon, it’s a tough read but I’m glad that it ties into something for those who do. I don’t quite understand the finances of putting out a mass produced comic if the intended audience is the few who get to go to Halcyon but Disney/Marvel clearly have the means to make a comic that will appeal to a small population and still sell and make money from the rest. I choose to be positive about almost everything I consume, especially Star Wars, but I do get the corporate vibes from this one just a little too much along with the pretty boring story to someone who hasn’t been to the Halcyon.

Alex, I just finished reading the Halcyon Comics and I will just say that I think you are looking at them from the wrong perspective. This isn't about Marketing FOR the Halcyon, this is about nostalgia for the people who have already BEEN to the Halcyon. I can honestly say that about5 or 6 times a week since I got back from that cruise I have thought about "when can I go back to the Halcyon?" It's the little details in this comic that make it fun for me. The chandeliers in the Grand Dining room, the placement of consoles on the bridge, the history of the captain back when she was younger and fearless...The only thing I personally found off putting is the exaggerated way they drew Anakin. I especially loved getting storied told by D3-O9. You can interact with her a lot on the voyage. Anyway, I know you wanted to hear from someone who liked it...So far, I like it. It's all about nostalgia for people who have actually gone on the cruise.
