Hey everyone! I hope you're having a great weekend. Leave your questions for this week's Q&A below!

lol yeah the big thing to make of it all is, I think, what you said at the end. I don't think LFL is ever going to treat hyperspace with overly strict rules. I don't think they want to be shackled by them. If they establish real rules, fans are just going to complain that they're constantly broken. Maybe they'll get into it more in the High Republic, but I think the very hand-wavy statement of, "Even we, the citizens of the galaxy, don't really know how hyperspace works," is the way they want to go. It works because it does. There are trade routes and hyperspace lanes, but maybe every single one operates under a different set of rules.

I don't recall that planet being mentioned in any HR story. I think they have mentioned two other planets Starlight is in between, actually.

I get that hyperspace travel moves at narrative speed. And I guess I’m fine with that, even though we can tell perfectly good stories set here on Earth regardless of the fact that it’s generally not possible to travel from LA to London in less than eight or nine hours : ) But let’s say that I concede that Hyperspace should stay completely nebulous and mysterious in its travel times, even though I plainly don’t think that’s true. Given the existing lore in canon surrounding hyperdrive classes and major hyperlanes, what is the difference in ETA between traveling from — say — Garel to Ryloth using the Ghost’s hyperdrive traveling down the Perlemian to the Corellian Run as opposed to taking the Triellus Trade Route? Or something even more out of the way? Or what is the general rule of thumb? Is the fastest way from the far Northeast to the far Southeast really through the Core? Does canon give us any kind of sense of when travel across the entire galaxy is a matter of hours and when it’s a matter of days? I started reading Into the Dark, and it’s made clear that their ETA when setting out was such that they wanted to have overnight accommodations going from Coruscant to Starlight, even though that’s mostly a straight shot down the Corellian Trade Spine. What do I make of that? (Other than the fact that LF might not ever want to indulge my every last nerdish obsession?)

The High Republic map of the Galaxy seems to place Starlight Beacon squarely in the same location as the planet Thakwaa (which, I understand, was canonized in Alphabet Squadron. And LucasFilm has been pretty true to the Essential Atlas planet locations, generally speaking). Have any High Republic stories acknowledged this yet? If not, have they asserted a different location? And if not that, do you think there’s a reason they’re being so coy about it? (The way they were with Ilum and Starkiller Base.)
