August 5, 2018 Q&A Thread

Hey everyone! Sorry this week’s post is a little delayed, but leave your questions for this week’s video below!

Comments

Not really a question but wouldn’t a Imperial Bad batch look so sick, with all of them being black and green

Did Crosshair really get his chip out? He seemed to be touching his head a lot, and having conflict inside of him

Do you think people’s expectations of Bad Batch were too high and that’s why people seemed disappointed in the finale?

What show would you propose to Lucasfilm? I would propose a show called “The Secret Apprentice” who is a Jedi tasked to babysit Grogu in the Jedi Temple.

Sounds good. I'm excited to follow along and excited for this new series of videos.

More of a statement than a question: I love that you recently changed your video endings from “me” to “us”! 😊

This is more of a out of universe question than in but why doesn't Disney sell clothing seen in the movies? You know how much money they'd make? Plus you and I could finally buy our Rebel X Wing pilot uniforms.

How does dark side corruption affect physical appearance in canon? For example, Anakin Skywalker's eyes turn yellow after slaughtering the younglings. Why doesn't Snoke have yellow eyes?

I think I agree. I have vague memories of seeing the Special Editions in the theater as a kid and I remember seeing Revenge of the Sith on the last day of school in 2005 and bringing my toy lightsaber to school that day cause I was so excited, but something about TFA was just so special. I did the AMC marathon with a group of friends and that was an experience that wil be hard to top.

I was reading some speculations online, and came across a rumor that episode 9 could be split into two parts. I’d be shocked if it turned out to be true, but I was wondering what your thoughts on that would be. (Link to a video that talked about it: https://youtu.be/sMysItGOPZI)

Fair enough. I just wonder if one day we will get some more young Dooku content that might include some event/mission that led to his decision. We know Obi-Wan's duel with Maul led him to switch to Soresu so perhaps young Dooku faced a duel with a Dark Jedi or something. As an alternate head canon explanation, perhaps he had some Force vision of a time in which light saber combat was common again. When he tried to tell the Jedi that he believed they should prepare for such a possibility, they ignored him. Such an explanation would fit with Dooku's growing disdain for the Jedi. Just a theory but perhaps one day there will be an official story

Man, that's a great question. And I can't decide. I totally agree that his story since his return has been great. It's my favorite stuff in The Clone Wars. He was great in Rebels. But yeah, the fact that he survived being cut in half AND a fall down some massive pit makes it plausible for literally anyone to survive. Death needs to mean something in storytelling, and I wouldn't say Star Wars has gotten into this bad habit, but yeah. Maul sets a shaky precedent for characters like Snoke.

Maybe it was in preparation to duel Jedi? There probably isn't any real reason, they just wanted to say he was a fantastic duelist haha

An apology from Anakin, an “its ok” from Ahsoka, and a “Thanks Snips” from Anakin. Pretty straightforward

Ben Debebe

An apology from Anakin, an “its ok” from Ahsoka, and a “Thanks Snips” from Anakin. Pretty straightforward

Ben Debebe

A second question if you do not mind. Overall, do you think Maul's return has done more good or harm? On the one hand, his character elevated Clone Wars and added a great deal to Rebels. However, the downside is that there seems to be an expectation that characters who are obviously dead--Han Solo for one--are just resting somewhere, waiting to return. If every character starts returning, death, in effect, has no meaning or consequence.

Is there a good explanation for why Dooku chose to master form 2? I know he believed it was better to master one form than to dabble in multiple forms without becoming proficient in any of them. That part makes sense but it is just odd that he would dedicate himself to a form designed for dueling when, as far as he and the Jedi knew, there was nobody to duel.

I am thinking Vong replacement, but I don’t think we will se as major an invasion. I think they will be explored more, just not as massive of a threat.

My gut says Poe will be in charge in Leila’s absence. I think that was where his arc was leading in TLJ. But Lando will certainly be upper management lol

I agree. Calculated and safe is a good way to put it. The books mostly have felt like they haven’t come into their own. They aren’t telling unique stories. The comics I’ve been really happy with. But the books need to branch out and tell their own stories at some point.

I haven’t found a source for this at all. I just think it’s talk. I don’t want them to split it up, just make it long. Splitting movies like that always feels like a cheap money grab to me.

I’d be surprised to see her in a significant role, but even a cameo would be awesome!

Quinlan Vos is still kinda sorta up in the air, and I really want to see him again.

I assume so. They’ve gotta have some elite troops.

The Luke thing was the last straw, but he’d been feeling ignored, abandoned, and like an outcast for a while.

I would go with the movie. Star Wars is a film franchise first and foremost.

We’ll answer this in the video

Yeah that creature is pretty vague right now. So I’d love to learn more about it.

Outside of the origins, no I don’t know anything beyond that, but I will look into it!

Hi! Welcome! :)

They tried transfusions in Legends and it didn’t work, so probably nothing.

I don’t think we know enough to say right now.

Nah, I think it just fell down in Cloud City and was recovered.

I don’t know the will of the Cosmic Force haha but I would guess it just waited until the time was right. In my opinion the CF is like God or fate or the will of the universe. It has its reasons and we mere mortals will never fully understand them.

I don’t think seeing The Force Awakens in theaters will be topped for me for a long time. I was still early in my fandom when TPM came out so I never really had to wait a loooong time for the next Star Wars movie. Learning that ROTS wasn’t the end was huge, and getting to see TFA and then have it be such a joyful experience was perfection.

We’ll answer this in the video

Yeah, I think we will see some Jedi Academy type stories eventually

Lol we have had this question before and we can’t ever think of anything major. I know we disagree on how the sequel trilogy era will be handled after IX, but that’s not a hot button issue lol

I doubt it, even though he was considered to be an Inquisitor for Rebels. I don’t think we will learn Vader had an apprentice.

My heart says Piett, but I think Grievous is probably the best military leader of the bunch.

I hadn’t read that! Thanks for sending it! I have always been on board with the canon reset. If that’s the price for new films, so be it.

Haha I don’t think we are supposed to think too hard about space travel. None of hyperspace is based in reality.

All of those stories are currently Legends.

My plan will be true release date order, as if I were reading them in real time, so yeah I will mix up some of the series like the Jedi Academy trilogy.

Not really. I think it’s just less likely that we will see a Solo 2 specifically.

Great!

Kevin Dragos

Legends are certainly worth consideration, so that's a good point. Overall, it just leaves me uneasy that we have to take Thrawn at his word for so much of the new information presented in Thrawn: Alliances. Thanks for taking the time to read and respond!

Really interesting idea! I’d be surprised if anyone specific showed up, it might be confusing to the people that don’t keep up with the comics.

Yeah I still think Mace would have tried to kill Palpatine and Anakin would have saved him. But I think Anakin would have fought with the Jedi until that moment. Hell, maybe Mace would have listened to Anakin and arrested Palpatine instead.

I don’t see them as part of Death Watch, but maybe they would join the Protectors like Fenn Rau.

I don’t think Thrawn changes his mind on anything except the idea that the Anakin he knew was gone. That Vader and Anakin are essentially two different people.

I’m bummed the streaming service won’t have all the Star Wars movies right away...but I also own them all so it’s not that big a deal haha

Pre Vizsla? The Mandalorians make good templates because they are warriors haha. Most everyone else in the galaxy are largely peaceful.

I would expect it to be followed up in books, since that’s where it was all set up.

I would be surprised if the Chiss wanted to invade the Empire. But mostly because of what we know of them from Legends. I guess Thrawn’s attitude makes me think he is really in the Empire as an ally and not as a mole, but that’s also kind of an interesting idea. They would certainly be an exciting and major threat. But for now I’m assuming the Grysk are in league with only a handful of Chiss. Still, doesn’t sound like an easy fight haha

Maybe he was able to use Kylo as a proxy? They had a connection...their mind battle in TFA may have made her easier to find. Good question! The answer is because it served the story haha but that’s a fun thing to think about. Might do a video on that...

Oof I hope not haha I don’t want earth to ever play into Star Wars.

I wouldn’t take those numbers TOO literally. I assume Palpating just meant a whole lot of people haha

Same!

We’ll answer this in the video

There is only one canon story. But Legends had a couple stories I think haha. Just a case of multiple people wanting to tell the same story and nobody saying they couldn’t.

But if they did how how do you think the conversation would be like

Carlos Medina

Nah, it’s probably been there too long.

They did, according to the Character Encyclopedia, I think.

I doubt it will contradict anything from Legends.

I assume someone keeps an eye on them, yes. But the Lost Twenty seemed to be mostly respected. Doesn’t sound like Jedi leave the Order that often.

I didn’t think sidelined meant killed, I thought it was more they aren’t given any recognition for their service. But in Legends the Chiss really didn’t like Force sensitivity, and they would execute any Chiss that used The a Force, so maybe Zahn was referencing that.

They’re great! Troops is my favorite but I really enjoy the choreography lightsaber fights as well. That Darth Maul one from a couple years ago is really good.

Maybe! But I’m more hopeful we go to a new era or at least new part of space.

We don’t know exactly, but it does sound like it happened in his teens. Why does that not work? Also it’s possible he betrayed Luke before the events of Bloodline.

I don’t think they use that system in canon but in Legends it was just seen as the beginning of the end for the Empire. I agree either the end of the GCW or the start of the Empire would have been a better system haha

We’ll answer this in the video

I assume it’ll be a success. But if you don’t care either way, might as well leave now. Go find something you actually like.

I would guess no, but once he became part of the Cosmic Force he would find out.

I don’t like Dark Empire haha. Tales of the Jedi could be a fun adaptation though!

I think most people are perfectly happy with Star Wars. The more I disconnect myself from Twitter or YouTube comments, the more I feel optimism as a group.

I assume he knows. He could probably sense her presence.

Probably the live action series. I just want to see some good, long form character work.

Maybe? We still don’t really know the “rules” of Force ghosting haha

I thought Solo worked fine the way it was. But I could also see it being fine as a new character without all those boxes to check. I wonder how it would have done box office wise without the Solo name. Could have been exciting to get something brand new.

After reading the Phasma book I can see her as a sociopath. I don’t know if her calling Finn scum means any more than it does on a surface level. But rah she probably hates him for humiliating her.

I lean towards coincidence, but I hadn’t thought about it. You’re right, there is a LOT of new hyperspace stuff we are learning.

I do think so. I can see them putting aside their differences to survive, and ultimately I think both of them want to protect the galaxy as a whole. I hope we get to see their story.

We’ll answer this in the video

What do you believe the introduction of the Grisk means for the future of Star Wars? Possible Vong replacement, or a one time appearance? How would you like to see them implemented?

Sure haha all in good fun! There have already been some small Easter eggs like the infinity gauntlet in the Emperor’s collection. I’d love to see Han and Rocket meet up. Or maybe Hondo and the Guardians of the Galaxy haha

The book From a Certain Point of View says the Tantive’s hyperdrive was broken and giving off a unique and traceable energy.

Someone suggested that Kix could be in the show and I would LOVE that. But yes I think Dave will be able to tie in elements of all eras.

Also I’m new to Patreon and if anyone could help me out on how to find/search for Alex’s old audio commentaries I would greatly appreciate it I’m very interested in listening to his prequel commentaries. Thanks!

Mollie says yub nub haha I will go with the throne room.

It was just a fun coincidence that the translation of the Chiss word to basic means sky walker.

Not really, I think it could still possibly relate to the movie, but I don’t think they would have written the book so early if it were meant to be a direct tie in.

I assume one unit is one soldier. As long as they make enough to handle the seppy’s, I guess five million is enough haha

I am guessing three, same jump as between Hope and Empire.

I think they are more referring to them splitting up after Ben fell. Han went back to smuggling. But yeah Han wasn’t really around for Ben when he was younger.

Do you think Lando will take command of the resistance. He was technically a general during the galactic civil war. I think this would make sense with all of the resistances’ senior command taken out in TLJ With this in mind do you think we’ll see the return of any old rebel capital ships such as the home one.

is some of then fun taken out of the new expanded universe (if it's called that anymore) due to everything being so planned out? I love what the story group is doing and continues to do but some of the media released feel too calculated and safe.

Ah I understand! From what I’ve seen, it’s been mostly positive with Maul’s reintroduction. I hope Disney doesn’t decide to cut him off of future installments

Michael, I didn't mean to insinuate that Maul was a reason for the box office. What I was getting at, more or less, is that Lucasfilm might be less willing to take risks and include EU characters (like Maul) in an effort to play it safe

Who among us doesn't want more star wars content? 😉

That’s not really true. Star Wars would have performed exceptionally regardless, and no one is even considering those two films competing with it as the main reason. Now it may potentially be a reason, but it isn’t the main one. It has absolutely to do with the backlash. And even so it didn’t do that poorly

Wouldn't that just make it Episode 10? I doubt it's true, but honestly I'd be all for it.

So there's been rumors floating around that Episode IX will be split into two movies. Have you heard anything about it? Thoughts?

Also, a Twi'lek in the sequel trilogy?! YASSS

chris

How likely is it that we will see Kaasha with Lando in IX? Kerri Russell, anyone?

chris

What unconfirmed Jedi do you want to be a purge survivor and to appear in the new Vader comic? Also, just a video idea. It would be cool to a video of all potential survivors.

Do you think the 501st or somthing similar to it would continue to exist within the First Order?

What exactly was the reason for Ben solo turning to the dark side? I understand that in his eyes his uncle tried to murder him, but do you think there was something else that caused him to turn on his whole family?

When the books and the movie contradict what is the actual canon? The book or the movie...

Michael Hach The box office failure for Solo had nothing to do with the backlash but because of it being realeased in between The Avengers and Deadpool 2 which there was competition.

Where was Luke’s Jedi temple located? Is there actually any evidence of the planet it was on?

With the Aphra comic clarifying some stuff about Bor Gullet, what other little or unexplored creatures and aliens from the new films do you hope are given some more details? I am really interested in some info on that giant tentacle monster in the Maw. Even if it is a reference to Abeloth, I would love to hear about some of those legends it has inspired (pun intended).

Hey guys. Just wondering about the origin of R2D2s name. Apparently came from "reel 2 dialogue 2" during editing of American graffiti. Any idea what scene "reel 2" and "dialogue 2" refer to in the movie? Would be cool to know but may be lost to history...

Oran Carroll

Hey guys. Long time watcher, first time commenter.

Oran Carroll

If midichlorins live in the blood of powerful force sensitive people like Jedis, what would happen to me if I got a blood transfusion from a Jedi? What if I started drinking Jedi blood like a vampire?

Were there any prominent Force wielding/studying groups or organizations before the Jedi? We know of different ones during and after like the Guardians of the Whills and the Acolytes of the Beyond, but are we to assume that the Jedi started it all?

Alden Diaz

I follow all this stuff pretty close and I guess I musta missed all this. Maybe Alex can shed some light.

Not really. The general idea of including Maz is cool

It is indeed true, Ron Howard has even said that the plans for the trilogy haven't been scrapped. It's very likely Disney intended a trilogy

To do with maul**

Not Alex haha, but I doubt they won't bring maul back specifically because of it. The box office failure really has nothing to do with musk, or in general the movie itself, but of episode 8's backlash. If maul were to not return in films, it'd be simply because the solo trilogy was scraped due to the backlash of episode 8, in which they mistake for solo just being something fans' dislike. Which is a shame, I rather enjoyed solo

Do you think Luke's lightsaber being perfectly intact in The Force Awakens the result of the World between Worlds? Perhaps someone saved it?

The last Jedi novelization talks about the cosmic force. It says the will of the cosmic force was silent and dormant after the demise of the Sith, only to awaken once again during Luke’s exile. Why didn’t it awaken when Snoke was rising to power?

I just got tickets to see A New Hope in concert in a couple weeks. I'm so excited to see my favorite Star Wars film in that format and it got me thinking about some my favorite theater experiences when seeing a Star Wars film. What are some of your favorite Star Wars theater experiences?

What is your thought that we won't get a new Star Wars book with an original story until February next year?

In The Last Jedi, Luke explains to Rey that he took Ben Solo and "a dozen students" to train at his new Jedi temple. Do you think we will ever find out where/how Luke found these dozen other individuals to train? If so, do you have any ideas as to this? I always thought it was so interesting that Luke would take on so many students at one time, having himself learned more in a 1 on 1 style.

What's the biggest Star Wars disagreement between you and Mollie?

Do you guys think we will ever see Starkiller in Canon?

How do you think a space battle would’ve gone down between General Grevious, Admiral Piett, and General Hux?

Have you ever read the tweet by Pablo Hidalgo about his feelings on the EU being scrapped? He says that it was first talked about years before Disney bought Lucasfilm. I really like his view on how he hated the idea at first but then he realised George's vision in 2012 for the ST was starting to mess with the EU canon so by making the EU non-canon, it protected it in a bubble, instead of being increasingly changed. It makes me feel better about why the EU was made non-canon, do you feel the same? Here is a link to reddit showing the tweet that has since been deleted if you are interested. https://www.reddit.com/r/StarWarsEU/comments/4kigb5/pablo_hidalgo_has_shed_some_light_on_his_thoughts/

Batuu was a "subspace trading hub" How in the world could there be interplanetary trade at subspace? Wouldn't it take centuries to travel between two systems without hyperdrive technology? Didnt it take like a month for the falcon to limp from Hoth to bespin on its back up hyperdrive and that was only like 500 parsecs away.

Great question, I've always wondered about that also.

I'm a big fan of Karen Traviss's Null Arcs. Related questions: Did the Republic Commandos books get relegated to the "Legends" category? Secondly, the book "The Clone Wars" by Traviss mentions Null-6 Kom'rk. Is that book considered canon, and if so does that make the Null Arcs canon again?

I just started reading Legends books and I'm trying to follow along with you as you go through them. Quick question though, when you say you read in release date order does that mean true release date order or do you read the entire series at the time the first book came out? For example, do I read Jedi Search and then The Courtship of Princess Leia or do I read Jedi Search, Dark Apprentice, Champions of the Force and then go back to The Courtship of Princess Leia? Thanks Alex!

Do you think the lackluster box office results for "Solo" will make Lucasfilm less likely to include characters like Maul in future movies?

I just finished reading the book "Bloodline" by Claudia Gray and it raised a LOT of questions for me. However, for now, I will only ask one. In the book Bloodline, we see that the Anaxines (the warriors supported by the First Order) are heavily damaged but are not destroyed by the actions of Leia and their leader is ultimately betrayed by the First Order-aligned Senator Carise Sindian. We have also seen that in the Poe Dameron comic, Agent Terex was betrayed by the First Order and left alive (last we saw). Do you think Episode 9 will feature any of the scorned operatives and puppets the First Order used over the years joining or helping the Resistance? Do you think they could they maybe appear as background easter eggs and extras? All of these pawns and tools of the First Order could make a very motley crew of background extras and could help form an interesting new alliance appearing in the film. I cannot wait to hear your response!

Just a little ‘what if’ scenario. If Mace Windu had trusted Anakin and let him come with him to face Palpatine, would things have transpired much differently? I reckon yes, but with the same result ultimately.

McElvisss

I think Pablo has said it’s not in universe. I think its just fans to keep track of things that are going on and make the timeline easier organize

All these “post-ROTJ mandalorian show” rumors got me to want to re read the Repulic commando novels, and it got me thinking, do you think Kal Skirata and the other mandolorians who trained the clones (legends I know) would have been supporters of death watch? I just feel like their warrior mentality would really clash with Satine’s “New Mandolorians”. I would love to see them pop up fighting for Bo-Katan during the siege of mandaloren

In Thrawn Alliances, Thrawn kept letting clues slip that he knew that Vader and Anakin were the same person. Do you think he was trying to see if Anakin had really turned to the dark side and had joined the Empire? And once he realized that Vader had really become the Emperor's apprentice, was that a deciding factor for Thrawn to fully change his allegiance the Empire?

perkindo

What are the other canon versions? I know the forces of destiny version, but I think that it's kind of dumb lol.

I'm wondering what your thoughts are on Disney's broadcasting rights issue, by which I mean that they sold the broadcasting rights to Turner a few years ago and are now not able to reacquire them for use on the forthcoming streaming service.

In the clone wars episode "clone cadets" there's talk about finding new person for the clone template. If order 66 never happened and things went as normal who would have been a good pick for the template?

Matthew davis

So in Thrawn Alliances Thrawn informs Vader of the political turmoil in the Chiss Ascendancy and with this new idea introduced do you think that the new film series that the Game of Throne guys are making could follow this concept or the John Favreau tv series could follow this idea as well. And what other mediums would you like to se this in a video game or a comic or something else.

Grand Admiral Jar Jar

Hey Alex, I know you're a busy man, but I would LOVE to hear your thoughts on this Thrawn: Alliances theory when you have the chance. https://www.reddit.com/r/starwarsspeculation/comments/94djls/thrawn_alliances_thrawnchiss_secretly_planned_to/

How was Snoke able to create a mind bridge between Rey and Kylo when he didn't know where in the galaxy Rey was? If he could find her using the Force to do that, couldn't that have just given him Luke's location as well?

Kevin Dragos

Do you think we'll ever see anything resembling the rumored novel that was supposedly going to "explain" how humans got to the star wars galaxy, tying in American Graffiti and THX-1138?

Carrying on from "How many troopers in a legion," when Palpatine says that "an entire legion of my best troops" was protecting the shield generator, did he mean exactly 12,800, or just 'a whole freakin' lot?' I suppose that he also said 'best troops,' so some exaggeration could be expected.

John Roebuck

Do you think we could see Kix in Resistance? I think it could be a really cool tie in given that Dave created the character. I'm not sure when he woke up though relative to the destruction of the New Republic

Why is is such a big confusion about "where did Leia get her bounty hunter disguise for RotJ" why does it have like 5 different cannon and legends descriptions? Why couldnt she just... Go to the store and buy an outfit to pretend she was a bounty hunter?

I suppose you are correct, as I doubt we will ever get those movies after solos performance at the box office

Just to piggy back here, have you seen the Early Atomfilms/Lucasfilms fan film festival? it gave us Pink 5, troops, jar jars walking papers, and my personal favorite: The Battle of Hoth https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xk9pP9-_1NA

So did Felicity Jones... normal Hollywood practice.

Literally just started reading the Vader comic (2015 run) and he says he put a tracker on

Alden did in fact sign for more than one film, and I personally would love to see an “underworld” trilogy

What is your opinion about Luke's X-Wing being under the Ach-Too sea? You think we will see it fly again on Episode IX?

Did Sly Moore and Mas Amedda know Palpatine was a Sith Lord?

So why are you here? just to complain about how life isnt fair?

Like the original 6 live action movies, the Clone Wars 2008-2013 series supposedly fits into both Legends and canon continuities. Will the same be true of the new season?

What happens when a Jedi gets expelled from the Jedi Order? Do they get put on a watch list like sexual predators or terrorists? Either way what's preventing them from abusing their powers doing illegal jobs?

Thrawn: Alliances question: After finding the Chiss children, Thrawn tells Vader the children are sidelined when their powers fade (hinting it's a really bad thing). Vader reacts strongly saying the Jedi weren't even that cruel. I took that as the Chiss killed the children (because they use the word "sacrifice" and Thrawn says not all of them are willing to make the sacrifice) thus prompting such a strong reaction from the Sith Lord. I've been discussing with another person who doesn't think the Chiss are that cruel to kill kids. But then why would Vader react the way he did? I would love another take on this since it's not clear in the book.

Trilogy? What!? I don’t believe that’s accurate bud.

What do you think of Star Wars Fan Films? If you like them & watch them, do you have a favourite?

Cosmic Outpost

Do you think we might ever see an anthology film that takes place around the time of the sequel trilogy which features any of the main or secondary characters being reprised by the same actors? And if so? Which characters or plot would you most like to see?

Not Alex, but many forget this is the first of an intended trilogy of solo films. He is to be much more cynical in the future by some means.

when did Kylo train with Luke? It says on wookiepedia that he started in his late teens but he found about Vader when he was 23? How does that work if the force awakens takes place 6 years after he betrayed Luke?

Why does Leia say that Han and her went back to their old professions when Ben went to train with Luke in TFA? Didn't they do that before that, and that's why he felt abandoned?

Do you think there is a good in-universe reason why the Battle of Yavin was used for 0BBY for the Galactic Calendar? Given what we know now about the timeline, wouldn't the Battle of Scarif or the Battle of Jakku be more appropriate?

Adam Rosalky

Pretty much.

So... to be clear... your giving up Star Wars forever no matter what happens with the movie?

Ok so in the last Q&A you were discussing the possible continuation (or lack there of) of the numbering system after XI. Given as you pointed out that Rian Johnson will be doing an unrelated trilogy do you think they might take the controversial approach of OFFICIALLY Re-titling the Original Trilogy something like "Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga" Followed by the episode titles (Kind of like how they ret-conned ROTLA into Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark? Or would that be too much sacrilege for fans?

Good Question. I also have thought about it. I thought it might be interesting if just as the Soul Stone (Infinity Gauntlet) has a universe inside it, That perhaps it turns out the Star Wars universe exists within the POWER infinity stone. It would explain those SW tech books where everything is just ridiculously overpowered in the SW universe ;)

When Star Wars Episode IX gets released next year, will it be a box office hit or will it be flop? If it's the former, I'm saying goodbye to Star Wars. I will leave the fan club never to return. Not just these new movies, but the original trilogy, and the prequels. In fact the franchise as a whole. If it's the latter, then it's end of Star Wars. No Rian Johnson Trilogy, no tv shows by Jon Favreau and Game of Thrones creators, no more Resistance. It's goodbye to Star Wars forever.

Did Vader learn that Leia was his daughter before his death? We know that in ROTJ, Vader learns he has a daughter but he only refers to her as Luke's sister. "Tell your sister, you were right." Is there a Legends/Canon explanation or did he die without having to face the fact that he oversaw the torture of BOTH his children?

Is there a Dark Horse Star Wars comic you'd like to see adapted besides, say, Dark Empire?

H O P E

Your almost certainly correct but it seems an odd thing for him to put in the novel, rather than an origin it probably means we’ll be seeing more of the ascendancy and the unknown regions

I think since the profundity was immobilized and boarded there actually is a pretty good chance a tracker was involved

What do you think is needed for people to become more optimistic about Star Wars again? I'm getting tired of the negativity.

By the end of TLJ, does Kylo Ren know Leia survived the explosion of the Raddus' bridge?

Now that Thrawn: Alliances has released, what is the next Star Wars story you are most looking forward to leading up to episode 9 and why?

Something as big as the origin of the Skywalker name definitely wouldn’t be explained away in a novel.

Ben Debebe

Do you think that we will see in either a comic or novel the meeting between Force Ghost Anakin and Ahsoka and how would it go.

Would the Solo movie be better if they removed the fact it was Han? Like what if it was a random new character?

Does Phasma qualify as a sociopath and if so what are the implications of her calling Finn scum? Is it just anger and humiliation over having just floored by him? Is she playing it safe and distancing herself from her past in which she, like Finn, abandoned and betrayed her old life and everyone in it? Or is she just incredibly reserved and selfish but not a sociopath and therefore self aware enough to actually project her own sense of regret (however small) onto Finn?

Recently, it seems like there has been a lot of media released related to hyperspace, hyperspace travel, and the specifics of it (Luke’s Compass in BF2 and TLJ, Purrgils, pretty much the whole plot of Solo, Thrawn Alliances, etc.). Do you think it’s all a coincidence or do you think it might be leading to something, and if so, what?

Now after reading both Thrawn and Alliances, I've seen a different side to Thrawn outside of Rebels. Do you think there's a possibility Thawn and Ezra will need to team up in the Unknown Regions to survive or maybe to assist the Chiss Ascendancy? I think it would be an interesting twist to Ezra's story.

With the jon favreau live action series rumored to be about mandalorians after ROTJ What are the chances of there being some familiar faces such as Sabine or maybe even boba?

Since Marvel has comic rights to Star Wars would you be interested in a non-canon cross over? If so what do you think would be the best approach and who would you like to see interact?

At the end of Rogue One the Tantive IV jumps into hyperspace away from Scariff and presumably to Tatooine. If the events of Rogue One and A New Hope have a gap of a few minutes then how did Vader know they were going to Tatooine? Hyperspace tracking wasn’t around until TLJ and it seems weird to just think “there was a tracker on the ship”. What are your thoughts?

Do you think resistance will tie all 3 eras together better than the movies have? Dave already did a great job of tying tCW in with rebels and i hope he can do the same with our 3 current eras via resistance.

Curious yours and Mollie (and everyone else!) favorite ending musical themes from the movies? Mine would be 1) Empire "Rebel Fleet End Titles" 2) AOTC "Confrontation and Dooku and Finale" (the whole last scenes of the movie are great IMHO) 3) TFA 4) Jedi Steps 5) ANH "Throne Room" 6) Rogue One "Hope 7) Jedi (Origional Yub Nub) 8) Solo "Dice and Roll 9) TPM 10) TLJ "Finale" -- Would put the ending music of Rebels somewhere in the middle here FWIW

Thrawn: Alliances Spoilers! Are the chiss Skywalkers in anyway related to the family of the same name? Did Timothy Zahn casually reveal their origins or is this just a fun reference?

Do you think that Claudia Gray’s upcoming Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan novel was originally intended to be a tie-in to the rumored Obi-Wan movie, like how Catalyst and Last Shot were for Rogue One and Solo?

What is the true size of the Grand army of the republic, lama su states 200,000 clone “units” initially in episode two with more on the way. But is 1 unit 1 soldier. I mean the clone army eventually gets to 5,000,000 some units? But that seems like a very very small military force for a GALACTIC republic

People assume that there’s going to be a big time jump from VIII to IX. Given that Leia is going to look exactly the same in IX as she did in VII, exactly how far in the future would it be reasonable to think given this information? 2 years? Maybe three at the most?
