Patreon Changed Their Minds, You Will Not Be Charged Differently
Added 2017-12-13 18:17:19 +0000 UTCThank goodness! Patreon has decided to keep their system the way it always has been. You guys will not be charged any differently. No extra percentage. A dollar is a dollar, and not $1.37.
I am overwhelmed by the amount of people that said they would offer their support no matter what. That's amazing, but I'm so glad Patreon didn't roll this out.
I just wanted to keep you all in the know. A little extra good news before The Last Jedi! Remember, I'll be making a Q&A post tomorrow so get your questions ready after you see The Last Jedi, and also I would stay away from that thread until you've seen the movie!

I'm really glad they decided not to change things. I was faced with having to NOT support some of the artists that I currently do. I try to always support people at the $5 level so that would be an extra $0.50 per person. I'm on a limited budget due to health reasons and have to watch every penny. I only donate to 6 channels so to keep the ones I support at $5 a month I would have had to drop 2 people. Definitely NOT this channel though.

2017-12-13 20:08:44 +0000 UTCI could cover the charge and had not problem, despite feeling like they are scamming (I think I can prove that). The reason I got all up in arms is b/c the lower $ Patreons were going to naturally fall off fast and that really hurts the creators. As "Patreon paying followers" is akin to a like count on Facebook or follower count on Twitter, this edit was going to negatively impact creators ability to build the base making a key stat fall.
