Springtime is here, and I'm going back to the gym!

I've started out pretty modestly, but I've already worked up to a 105kg deadlift, and some pretty heavy squats ^_^

Hi Honkbalpoort :) That is exciting to hear! At the moment I actually enjoy being in a different place and spending time there. So that's a reason I like to go now. But in overall, I due enjoy taking care of my body. I think lifting weights is not only healthy but it really improves your physique, and seeing that improvement is also motivating. I don't go to the gym ever for cardio!!! :) So in a way it is mostly how it makes my body look, but also after a couple of reps of certain exercises it also gets fun, and my brain starts to enjoy it :P! But i would prefer to do other types of sports instead of the gym. But right now, this is my best option!

I recently got my gym membership and want to get back into a positive routine again. However, as I am getting older, it's harder to find the motivation to go all the time. Kristel, what keeps you motivated to continue to go to the gym?

Hi Taiga! I have had a big break due to the pandemic rules. It has been the first time in about 6 months that I have been to the gym again. Before that I would go on and of since many many years ago. A couple of years ago I started deadlifting and I absolutely love it. I want to break my Personal Record of 120 kilograms. I hope to do that this year :)

Wow! You're likely much stronger than I am. How often have you been going to the gym?
