Nowadays many people struggle with some form of depression or/and anxiety. It is something that cripples you and that holds you back from doing the simple things in life. Some might not even know they have it. I didn't think I had it. Perhaps because I never knew to explain what I felt. Especially during my Vegans days. Always telling myself I was just fine.
Luckily there are ways to cope with negative feelings. I always did my best to practice them, and in my experience they do work. Lately I started using them again, even though my depression and anxiety improved a lot.

There were three things that helped me from becoming the victim of the situations in my life. They helped me get out of bed, they helped me manage to at least accomplish one thing a day. They helped me keep my sanity when times got really tough. I hope they are of help to you too.

1. Be the watcher. Be the observer. Be the witness of your own thoughts. Don't identify with your thoughts. Stop the storyteller from taking over. The storyteller comes up with the excuses and hold you back from achieving your goals in life.
2. Practice being present. Live in the now. Stop living in the past or obsessing over the future.
3. Stop identifying yourself with your emotions. You are not your emotions. Instead clear your mind, relax your body and feel where the sensation of the emotion is coming from within your body. Laser focus, and scan through your body. Perhaps you need some stretching or some gentle massage in that area. Solve it in a physical way, instead of overthinking about the emotion.
In Fridays video I will talk about New Years Resolutions! Hope to see you in the comments there. And please let me know here what you do to help clear your mind, to help you keep your sanity in this pretty crazy world.
Much love,
Kasumi
