New Milestone Goals

In my previous post I asked you guys if you had any suggestions to what the new milestone goal could be all about, now that we've reached the first one ( yay!<3 ). A suggestion from Wolf's Bayne came that got me very excited, because I think it's something that might excite you guys as well, plus it is definitely doable on my part.

Mulling over the suggestion and the way to go about it, I want to present the next two milestone goals here on my SPIKE-devoted Patreon page.

The reward for reaching the next goal is that I will start uploading/posting freshly re-written versions of SPIKE Chapter 0 to Chapter 15, in addition to the long awaited Chapter 16..!
Also, if the rewritten chapters are numbered differently, like if there are now even more chapters leading up to the cliffhanger in the first draft version, I will take the content into consideration more than the actual numbers. Chapter 16 is about what happens next after the cliffhanger, but if the updated chapters leave that part on chapter, say, 20, I won't stop at Chapter 16 but continue all the way until we've reached the point in the story that matches what Chapter 16 was supposed to be about, you know? So you'll get the same sort of timeline-length, but the actual numbers in chapters may vary. But you will get no less than seventeen chapters (Chapters 0 to 16), but plausibly more.

So yeah; next goal, updated/rewritten versions of already excisting chapters plus a few brand new ones!

Moving on to the goal after that, I figure if that goal is reached I will continue posting monthly chapters until Arc One is concluded.
Just to help myself keep the story more structured, I have divided SPIKE into three Arcs. Think of them more like the Opening Part, the Main Part (or the Middle Part) and the End Part. Or, Arc One, Two and Three.

Arc One (the Opening Part) consist mostly of those first sixteen Chapters, and gradually moving on to Arc Two.
Arc One is definitely the shortest of all the arcs. Arc Two is a very large arc, followed by Arc Three which is almost as big.

This third goal will as mention conclude Arc One, but then move on to Arc Two, where I think it would be nice to upload chapters not once a month, but TWICE! :O

The con to these goals is that they may be a bit pricey. And that is because as much as it sucks to say; I do need money.
SPIKE is a huge project that I am devoting as much time as I can to. But it is unpaid labor, and being a freelance artist on the side isn't enough to make a living off of. For personal reasons I am 50% unfit for regular work and am fortunate enough to get financial support to make up for those 50% so I'll at least have a roof over my head and food on the table. Things are pretty stable at the moment, financially, but as far as I know that will only last until next spring, but it is not absolutely certain. I am trying to get back into having a proper, socially acceptable job like the fully functional normal citizen I am not. A job will give me more money to live a less constrained life, but it will also leave me with less time and far less energy to focus on my SPIKE project. I have the feeling that this is a project that will pay off some day, but so far I have worked on it for free for over 10 years - until Patreon happened.
I have said it before and I'll never get tired of saying it; your support means the world to me <3 Your support through DeviantART and elsewhere has kept this project alive, and now through your financial support on Patreon you are literally buying me more time to devote to this project. I am forever grateful to all of you <3

The goal prices for the next two ones are based on what I've calculated would "replace" my financial need for a regular job to supplement my income.
Sure, Norway brags about being one of the richest countries in the world, but it also results in being one of the most expensive countries to live in. A low income in Norway might sound like a high income elsewhere, and it may sound unfathomable that Norway has a LOT of poor and homeless inhabitants, but we do. The rich are getting richer, the poor are getting poorer, as seems to be the case pretty much everywhere in the world.

I do not want any of you to give up money that you actually need yourself to support me. I would much rather have you keep them in that case. If you have money to spare, I would even suggest donating to someone who need it more than I do. But if even then you have coins to spare, I would be forever grateful if you decided to become a patron of mine and support my SPIKE project.

Every supportive word is a huge motivator for me, and every cent is buying me more time to do what I love.
And I am doing the very best I can to ensure that one day you will all get a chance to hold a physical copy of my story in your hands. Even if I'd have to ship it to you myself, one way or another you will get a chance to read it some day.

That is, and has always been, my pledge to all of you who have supported my SPIKE project throughout all these years, whether you discovered it yesterday or back in 2009 on deviantart.

Without you guys, this story would not have been worked on today. So I thank you, all of you, for being the reason why I didn't just shove the story away in another pile of discarded ideas and leave it there, but for believing in me and the story so much that you made me believe in myself and the story's potential.

Many of you have been anxiously waiting for the next chapter for several years now. And I have been anxiously waiting for the day where I could show you the rest of the chapters. Therefore I hope you guys are as excited as I am right now, for the launch of these new milestone goals where once reached, you will not only be given "box-fresh", updated chapters of SPIKE chapters 0 to 15, but also be among the very first people to read brand new, previously unseen chapters of what happened AFTER Chapter 15..! Patreon exclusive, until the day hopefully comes when it has been published and become a physical book you can hold in your hands and read whenever and wherever. If that happens, you guys, my patrons, will be offered signed copies.
