September is here!!
Hope everyone enjoyed their summer (providingit was summer where you are lol) !
The summer was very busy for me and September is packed too, but my grandma used to say "It's better to wear out than to rust out" lol so I am thankful❤
Bit of a late start to the month for which I apologize. I was working in Londrina Brazil at a dance festival. I had an amazing time. Sadly the travel and business work had me returning home sick so I had to take a day to try and recover.
And actually we are going to talk a little about this in DDT #29 which will be starting us off this month:)
Photo is by Rodrigo Eder Photography from the Gala show in Brazil.
Below you will find the posting schedule for September and the updated master list of all previous DDT videos, my tips for learning, cool down and stretch videos and little warm up videos :)
Once again, I have a very busy month for the first couple of weeks and will be all over the place so we will not have a perfectly spaced out posting schedule this month.
Schedule for September is:
DDT #29 Friday September 6th
DDT #30 Monday September 9th
DDT # 31 Thursday September 19th
DDT #32 Monday September 23rd
Remember you can request practice video themes!! More Shimmies? More layering? More level changes? Let me know!
These drills will sometimes involve hand weights, medicine ball weight, floorwork, and level changes.
You do NOT have to add these elements of you do not wish to or if you are not physically in a position to handle them right now. You can absolutely follow along at your pace and not use the weights or do the floor work or level changes. You can do the same moves standing. Listen to your body and set your own pace that is right for your body.
To get the most out of these I do recommend keeping a notebook. Record what drill you did, what it focusing on and how much you want to work on that topic. This will help you to know what you have been focusing on and to track improvement depending on your individual goals:)
If you are going to follow along with the floor work and floor postures please invest in knee pads and/or a yoga mat
It looks like the ones I currently use are out of stock or discontinued but these here look similar. https://www.dancewearcentre.com/products/eurotard-994-stretch-cushioned-knee-pads?variant=42809921283
**You can use whatever ones you want. The important thing is that the knees are protected.
Need a new veil or want one like the ones I use in my Drills. Want to support a small business? Check out https://www.etsy.com/shop/SilksByCelestina
(Not sponsored. I genuinely purchase and love her veils and work).
*you can use any veil. I typically use a 3 yard 5mm ultra light silk veil.
There are some cool down stretch videos as well if you would like a little stretching guide and want to see some of my favorite stretches.

If you want to get the most out of this, I recommend keeping a note book. Write down the drill video number before you start and make a note after for yourself how you felt during and after. What did it work for you? Did you struggle with it in certain areas? How does your body feel from it the the next day? This will help you to pin point areas and know how often to do or revisit a drill so you get the most out of these.
Don't do more than you can before you are ready!
It's okay if you ran out of steam halfway through or can't complete the level changes or whatever struggles you may be having. Work through the struggles if you have any. Don't overdo it. Set goals. Do just 1 or 2 songs to start and work your way to 3 if needed. Only take a movement as far and/or as fast as you can without losing too much quality of movement. Drills/practices are not a competition but a rather a tool for growth. Use them wisely and safely and go at your pace:) Seek to Find the balance of pushing yourself without over extending yourself. ❤
Happy dancing to you💃💃Thank you again for being here ❤
