July is here!!
Hope everyone is excited for summer! Below you will find the posting schedule for July and the master list of all previous DDT videos, my tips for learning, cool down and stretch videos and little warm up videos :)
I have a very busy month for the first couple of weeks and will be all over the place so we will not have a perfectly spaced out posting schedule this month.
Schedule for July is:
DDT #21 Wednesday July 3rd
DDT #22 Tuesday July 9th
DDT # 23 Thursday July 18th
DDT #24 Thursday July 25th
If you are new here welcome! If you have been here awhile welcome back! Thank you for your support:) I hope you enjoy practicing and dancing with me. Here you can find a list below of all previous Dance Drills and Thrills posts in order all in one place so it's easier to navigate.
You can watch each video as many times as you want/ need!
Remember you can request practice video themes!! More Shimmies? More layering? More level changes? Let me know!
These drills will sometimes involve hand weights, medicine ball weight, floorwork, and level changes.
You do NOT have to add these elements of you do not wish to or if you are not physically in a position to handle them right now. You can absolutely follow along at your pace and not use the weights or do the floor work or level changes. You can do the same moves standing. Listen to your body and set your own pace that is right for your body.
If you are going to follow along with the floor work and floor postures please invest in knee pads and/or a yoga mat
It looks like the ones I currently use are out of stock or discontinued but these here look similar. https://www.dancewearcentre.com/products/eurotard-994-stretch-cushioned-knee-pads?variant=42809921283
**You can use whatever ones you want. The important thing is that the knees are protected.
There are some cool down stretch videos as well if you would like a little stretching guide and want to see some of my favorite stretches.

If you want to get the most out of this, I recommend keeping a note book. Write down the drill video number before you start and make a note after for yourself how you felt during and after. What did it work for you? Did you struggle with it in certain areas? How does your body feel from it the the next day? This will help you to pin point areas and know how often to do or revisit a drill so you get the most out of these.
Don't do more than you can before you are ready!
It's okay if you ran out of steam halfway through or can't complete the level changes or whatever struggles you may be having. Work through the struggles if you have any. Don't overdo it. Set goals. Do just 1 or 2 songs to start and work your way to 3 if needed. Only take a movement as far and/or as fast as you can without losing too much quality of movement. Drills/practices are not a competition but a rather a tool for growth. Use them wisely and safely and go at your pace:) Seek to Find the balance of pushing yourself without over extending yourself. β€
Happy dancing to youππThank you again for being here β€
