Here is our 4th Combination/Drill video. I hope you have enjoyed these and found them helpful to your learning.
Once again we are using a maksoum rhythm. This time though we will only be using 2 moves in the drill in hopes of the goal being to keep time with the music.
We will be doing 4 counts of washing machine shimmy (aka the hip twist shimmy, or just hip twists) followed by 4 counts of chest shimmy, then back to 4 counts of washing machine shimmy, then 4 more counts of washing machine shimmy and so on :)
Please remember to go at your pace and listening to your body. If you cannot maintain the speed done in the video that is OKAY. Do not beat yourself up over it. Work at the speed which the moves are still comfortable and practice until you are able to increase speed in small increments. Also you can just do the drill going through the song once or do it going through it twice depending on how your body feels while doing it.
Check your posture. It is easy with hip twist Shimmies to slide into bad posture where we hollow out our lower back. Be mindful of this and remember to keep your core (abdominal wall, especially lower abdominals) engaged while doing this drill. Safety first, always ❤😁
You can used any of the cool down and stretch videos after your practice on tour own.
