WoW im so honored you replied and will post a video as well! I really want to get these shimmies down and reach a level where I can be relaxed yet controlled at the same time. Can I ask another question as well. Where is the weight suppposed to be on our feet when we are first practisint our shimmies

What a great question Sitara!! Thank you so much for asking and so sorry for the delay in responding. I am going to answer you via video cause it will make more sense if I visually explain it. I will get a video up going over this hopefully by next weekend:) In the meantime I think in general the best area to focus on is feeling the energy coming from the knee, into the quad and engaging into the hips and obliques. Does that help/make sense? It is all connected and for me it helped to think of it as a channel for the energy to move through and be contained within, and it moves from the knee into the thigh, into the hip coming up into the oblique and back down again into the hip, thigh and knee. Hope that helps a little until I can get a video up talking g about this :)

Hi Cassandra! Loving the dancing and videos amazing. I have a question about the shimmy. I remember you mentioned in a previous tutorial that the legs are not doing all the work, but they are "coming" to the party. So, when you are shimmying, what is your mind focusing on moving the most, the quads, the obliques, the hips? If its all the above, what do you think should be mentally focused on first. Your shimmy is so unique and amazing and I don't like the look of most dancer's shimmies with the legs moving, so does that mean I should concentrating more on shimmying my hips/obligies up and down untill it can speed up?
