It's December! Dance Tutorial Number #3

And you know what that means!? It is time for a new dance tutorial and practice video.
Next week (December 9th to 15th) there will be another practice video posted.
The following week (December 16th to 22nd) there will be the second breakdown tutorial posted and a third practice video.
The final week (December 23rd to 29th) there will be another practice video posted.

So in total there will be 2 videos posted the 1st week and 3rd week. And the 2nd week and 4th week will have 1 video posted, for a total of 6 videos in the month of December. Let me know how you like this format:)

Hello Francesca! Great question, so happy you asked it :) With these moves when first learning i recommend keeping your weight evenly distributed between the heel and ball. With time you can try out shifting the majority of the weight forward onto your toes, but get comfortable with even distribution first:) My usually keep my weight evenly distributed across my ball and heel, or it's Predominantly on the ball. I practice both ways often, As getting used to keeping your weight on the ball of your foot is beneficial for traveling steps and working in demi pointe. While initially learning I like to keep the weight even distributed to help keep posture, balance and muscle use for developing the feel and muscle memory for a movement:) Hope this helps and if you have any more questions let me know :)

Hi , I’m loving the lessons. Thank you! When doing a hip slide or chest slide, where is my weight supposed to be? On the ball of my foot? Heel of my foot? Evenly distributed between heel and ball? Hm, actually, in your particular style of belly dance, where is the weight usually?
