Make your suggestions for upcoming content

Friends:

We are long overdue for some community feedback. I have some ideas about trying to organize posts by tuning, genre, difficulty, etc., but have yet to implement any changes. I see the content here as falling into a few subgroups:

Largest priority - 60s-70s folk/blues - this encapsulates everything from what most call American Primitive to British Isles

Next priority - early 20th century country blues - I also love doing lessons on country blues, artists like Blind Blake, Skip James, Gary Davis, and others.

Smaller priority - other subgenres of fingerstyle, mainly Nashville area, artists like Doc Watson, Merle Travis, Chet Atkins, etc. I like this music but it has never been something I have played a lot of.

Least priority - current and contemporary - there have always been several suggestions for Jack Rose and a few other more contemporary players.

Are there any of these areas you would like to see more heavily weighted? I personally feel we could do with a bit more from the Nashville crowd.

Please feel free to make suggestions for upcoming content. If you do, please be specific with song titles. I always try to choose things that are approachable, melodically and harmonically interesting, and are representative of an artist or style that has had a significant historical impact on this music.

Mississippi John Hurt would be welcome, I'd say! Maybe something like Frankie and Albert

Hello Will. That was one I learned by ear, I have a draft of a score, I think that would be a welcome addition so would definitely consider it some day.

Hi! You have a great performance of kottke’s “the fisherman” on YouTube. Any chance you have tabs for that? Or have thought of doing a lesson on it? Thanks for what you do!
