Peter Lang

Here's a teaser as to what's coming March 1st. Peter Lang stands among the 3 majorly influential fingerstyle artists of the late 60s/early 70s, Kottke/Fahey/Lang. This is of course, just my opinion.

Many years ago I found some rare pressings of "The Thing at the Nursery Room Window" as part of an estate auction. Two copies were sent by Kerry Fahey of Takoma records (no relation to John!) and managed to find themselves my way many years later. The note indicates 100 of these were pressed, Peter later wrote to me and said they actually only pressed a single box of these which meant 25 exist. Not sure which one is true!

Have the album but didn't know that!

raychrl .

Yes I knew that. But thanks for giving me informations that usually I don’t know

I don’t know if you knew this Marco, but Leo Kottke’s tracks on the Kottke Fahey Lang album we’re actually outtakes from 6 & 12, so I believe those were recorded at the same time as the rest of the record

I discover Lang when I was a young boy, in 1986, soon after my life was taken by storm by "6&12 string guitar" and "Greenhouse" by Kottke. I bought "Kottke/Lang/Fahye" album just to listen to 4 more kottke tunes, but I was shocked as soon as I listened to "When kings come home" and "Thoth song". I wanted "The thing" more than anything else, but in the pre eBay era and where I live it took me 10 years to find one. But I can't forget how I felt the first time I listened to it.

I agree with you about Peter being one of big 3. "The thing" has never and will never receive enough appreciation. But it is a real masterwork.
