Chernobyl Episode 5

And we have reached the end of this incredible show that made me feel so bad every single episode but also unlocked a new hyper fixation in my brain :)

This was so well done and I'm both relieved that it's over and sad because damn, I kind of want more?

So many hateable, despicable people in this show, purely fueled by ego and "prestige." But there are also so many wonderful people in this show who gave EVERYTHING they have to keeping their comrades safe.

Omg he died?!?! And so young, too, only 54 :( He was so amazing in this show. I have seen it several times at this point, and every single time he just infuriates me lol. God I hate that we lost him so early.

This miniseries is a devastating watch and a fascinating piece of film that I love to learn more about as more documentaries come out about it :)

This is top 2 miniseries of all time for me. The only other one that is there is band of brothers. Both so well done.

RIP Paul Ritter, he did an amazing job making you hate Dyatlov. Rewatching Shcherbina talk about the area's bloody history hits even harder now, as just three years after the show's release, the zone became the main Russian invasion corridor towards Kyiv and the towns just south of it site of some the most significant early battles, and war crimes. Edit: I found a beautifuly made tribute/video edit of the series: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3nobo1nD1w0

I'm actually chuffed to bits you got to experience this show/piece of history. Is the show depressing? Indeed. Is it gruesome in some places? Yep. Does it make you want to c*nt punt some of the people portrayed? Absolutely. That's the beauty of riviting writing.
