I'm still bitter af about EP2 ngl. Gonna hang in for the next two episodes to see if my bias for Joel gets in the way 😅 (it better fucking not bcs season 1 was so good!)

2025-05-05 07:11:35 +0000 UTCMy favorite thing about watching reactions to this show as someone who’s played the game is seeing so many ppl come up with a bunch of reasons why Abby was wrong for getting revenge on Joel while simultaneously demanding Ellie get revenge on Abby. It’s such cognitive dissonance, but that’s exactly the way the show wants you to feel. We want revenge on Abby because we loved Joel. We don’t love Abby’s crew so we don’t care if they were justified. In a way that makes us the audience complicit in everything Ellie is about to do. It’s such an interactive way of communicating the central theme of the story. It’s even more interactive in the game because we are actually doing it. Love this game (and the show) so much. I can’t wait for the rest to unfold.

If I was about to get into an argument with someone I'd want Gina on my side because even if I was in the wrong, she would have my back and that's what I appreciate about her.
