Serenity is finished! (And posting soon!)
Added 2024-12-01 08:54:59 +0000 UTCI wanted to let you guys know, the wait is almost over! I have had such a roller coaster with Serenity, and I think (fingers crossed) I should be able to upload it tomorrow.
I had originally planned on posting it in two parts, and had issues exporting Part One, way back when. From what I understand, my editing library, or a part of the file(s), got corrupted somehow. So while I can edit (at a snail's pace, since Final Cut slowed to a crawl), I can't export the video. I didn't want to lose all my work, so I basically decided to keep editing, and then I would just screen record the final cut, instead of exporting it.
Tonight, I finished editing and went to screen record the final cut, but didn't find out until the end that it had stopped recording less than halfway through. It's late now, and I can barely keep my eyes open, so I'm going to wait until tomorrow to try again. But barring any fresh disasters, Serenity should go up for early access here on Patreon some time tomorrow (Sunday), or Monday at the latest.
I'm so excited to give this to all of you! You've been so patient, but I know this is the one everyone has been waiting for. As much as I love this movie, and Firefly in general, this has been a very difficult edit, and I will be so, SO relieved to see it posted, and be able to move on to everything else. Stay shiny!

2024-12-11 21:00:05 +0000 UTCSome non spoiler about clerks i am not even supposed to be here today "I'm not even supposed to be here today" is a famous line from the 1994 cult classic film "Clerks," directed by Kevin Smith[1]. This iconic quote is uttered repeatedly by the main character, Dante Hicks, played by Brian O'Halloran[1][2]. ## Context and Significance The line encapsulates Dante's frustration throughout the movie. As a convenience store clerk at the Quick Stop in Leonardo, New Jersey, Dante was called in to work on his day off[1]. Throughout the film, he faces numerous challenges and absurd situations, making his unplanned workday increasingly difficult[1]. This quote resonates strongly with many people, especially those in retail, food service, and customer service jobs[1]. It has become a relatable expression of frustration for anyone who has ever been asked to work on their day off or found themselves in an unexpected and undesirable situation. ## Deeper Meaning While on the surface, the quote expresses Dante's annoyance at working on his day off, it also carries deeper existential undertones: 1. **Feeling stuck**: The repetition of this line throughout the film reflects Dante's broader sense of being trapped in his current life situation[2]. 2. **Existential crisis**: It represents a cry of frustration from someone who feels that life has passed them by while they remain in the same place[2]. 3. **Identity struggle**: The quote ties into the film's exploration of whether one's job defines their identity and behavior[2]. ## Impact on Pop Culture "I'm not even supposed to be here today" has become a widely recognized phrase in popular culture. It's often quoted by fans of the film and used humorously in situations where people find themselves unexpectedly inconvenienced or out of place. The enduring popularity of this quote speaks to the film's ability to capture the frustrations and uncertainties of young adulthood, particularly for those in seemingly dead-end jobs. It continues to resonate with audiences, cementing its place in cinematic history. 2024-12-02 07:55:14 +0000 UTCI believe it was just a glitch with Serenity. I had retrieved an earlier version of the edit because I wanted some cut segments, and somewhere in there, something went wrong. I keep separate libraries for each project, so nothing else was affected. It just made editing Serenity annoyingly complicated 😂 It's good to know I have help if and when I need to upgrade though, so thank you!

2024-12-02 07:54:37 +0000 UTCIt’s hard editing and when you finish you find out it all has to go back in the Wash. You will find the Serenity and although you may be tore up plenty, you will fly true. Nothing in the Verse can stop us, because we are Big Damn Hero’s. Aren’t we just.

2024-12-01 21:42:11 +0000 UTCI'm just happy to hear that you're back and your post sounds more like the old Jacqui! Just don't stress yourself to the point where your skin is deeper shade of red than your head. That much redder isn't better! Get a good night sleep. My Mom would advise you to get some good Chicken soup in you, so I'm going with that too! I look forward to seeing it when I see it.

2024-12-01 17:23:39 +0000 UTCJacqui do you need a computer upgrade or a change in software? I'm only asking to see if I can offer advise in how to fix these issues because obviously you can't continue to function like this. The stress alone has had to be unbearable!
