Posting Schedule - Starting Next Week (August 12)
Added 2024-08-09 01:38:37 +0000 UTCLet's try this!
Firefly and Serenity should wrap up by the end of this weekend, and I've been doing my best to get ahead with filming, so I can get back to a weekly schedule. I have to balance out the heavy, since I burned myself out so badly trying to do shows like BoB, MotA, The Pacific, and Shogun all at once. It was too much "dark", and I couldn't stomach going near any "heavy" movies that I wanted to watch, so I'm setting a new rule--only one really "heavy/dark/forked up" show at a time. I want to finish The Pacific first, since it's a priority, then I'll follow that with wrapping up House of the Dragon, and Shogun. I'm also going to do my best to alternate light and heavy movies. Among other previously requested films, I have a bunch of animated movies I need to catch up on, so those will help keep things more balanced.
Both The Expanse and Buffy are only 40-ish minutes per episode, and for the most part, are relatively easy weekly watches (time-wise, and emotionally speaking), so I can do those consistently. Considering the new announcements, it looks like if I start Severance next week, I'll finish season 1 just in time to start Shrinking season 2, which leaves a month or so before Severance season 2 starts. Parfait! And then we'll go from there.
*these are full length versions
Mondays - THE EXPANSE
Tuesdays - BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER
Wednesdays - THE PACIFIC (followed by HOTD, then SHOGUN, and we'll see after that)
Thursdays - SEVERANCE (followed by SHRINKING, and then SEVERANCE season 2)
Fridays - MOVIE
Saturdays & Sundays - BUFFER DAYS for if I have anything extra that pops up, or have to delay something from earlier in the week, etc.
***I'm going to try this for a while to see how it goes, and then either ADD or SUBTRACT based on how well I can maintain it. We're going for maintainable and consistent here! 😄

Fingers crossed the schedule goes as planned

2024-08-27 05:00:37 +0000 UTCI love Buffy, have the DVD’s and have listened to at least a couple of reaction podcasts. It’s so frustrating when reactors comment on lighting or camerawork or some other flaw that can only be seen on the extremely poorly made HD version. It’s not shoddy work by the creators! It was very well made, you’re just not seeing it how it was intended to be seen! Absolutely recommend getting the DVD version if possible.

2024-08-25 17:03:21 +0000 UTCThat is so exiting! I only just found this channel but some of my favorite shows are here and I’ve liked the reactions I’ve watched so far. I really hope you’ll consider checking out my absolute favorite show: Good Omens! Mostly light hearted and incredibly well made! Only 12 episodes so far, 6 per season and one season to go.

2024-08-25 16:59:27 +0000 UTCOne of the heavier movies I can recommend for a watch/reaction is Thirteen lives (on Prime Video). It's based on the real story of Thai boys that were trapped in a flooded cave back in june/july of 2018 and their rescue. It's an amazing movie with a stellar cast - Colin Farell, Viggo Mortensen, Joel Edgerton, etc. and directed by Ron Howard. Fun fact, the actors did their own stuns (cave diving). #movienight #movie-night

2024-08-18 16:55:49 +0000 UTCAlso looking forward to last two Firefly Episodes and the movie! I just binged watched all the Firefly episodes all day today with your reacts and I'm missing the wrap up! Thank you for what you do. I appreciate your commentary, especially on series that have a special place in my heart like Firefly. It cant be easy to do all these videos, but we appreciate them. Keep being amazing!

2024-08-13 14:05:27 +0000 UTCI'm mostly excited for Severance. More people need to be watching this show. Can't wait.

2024-08-13 05:54:55 +0000 UTCWill you watch Angle too? It has some needed crossovers. There is an order to watching both at the same time and a huge benefit. It opens up the experience.

2024-08-09 22:58:40 +0000 UTCYay Expanse, I think I'm upgrading my tier for watching that. Just a heads-up: While I’m not deeply familiar with BUFFY, I do know that the HD "restoration" of the series has introduced several issues. For starters, the show was originally shot in 4:3 without widescreen protection, but the HD version opens up the frame to 16:9. This leads to all kinds of problems, like revealing set equipment, crew members, or actors waiting off to the side before their cue. Lot of scenes are awkwardly cropped and zoomed in, or just badly framed due to some automation they used. They forgot to apply post-processing—so scenes that should have sunset or nighttime filters appear daytime. They also used a lot of DNR to an extent, that the new HD scan barely contains more details than the original SD. The CGI effects were also redone, but unfortunately, they're of much much lower quality compared to the original. From what I understand, this is the only version currently available for streaming, but if you want a more authentic experience, it’s highly recommended to track down the original 4:3 version released on DVD instead.

2024-08-09 16:32:56 +0000 UTCUntil the end? It's 7 seasons. If she only does one reaction a week it'll be nearly 3 years before she finishes the show...

2024-08-09 05:00:40 +0000 UTCI've watched quite a few Buffy reactors over the years, and it's always interesting when someone else joins the group. Sadly, I can only afford to watch the edited YouTube videos, but it's better than nothing.

2024-08-09 03:10:43 +0000 UTCI am glad to see The Expanse getting a scheduled day. I recently joined for that show but was kind of taken aback when I realized it seems to have been started back in January and only the 1st season is addressed.

2024-08-09 02:24:20 +0000 UTCCan't wait to see your reaction to Buffy. One of my favorite shows made and just scary enough at times to not freak you out. I suggest keeping it a Patreon exclusive till the end. Buffy fans have a tendency to spoil accidentally and purposely.

2024-08-09 02:18:18 +0000 UTCI'm excited to watch Buffy again.

2024-08-09 02:15:32 +0000 UTCHeads up: Serenity (the movie) has several jump-scare moments, on par with episode 3 of Firefly, so be ready for that.

2024-08-09 02:12:06 +0000 UTCI'm so excited for Buffy. I'm already watching 7 other reactors doing it so you starting is perfect since they are all season 3 or beyond now and I'll get to start season 1 again!!

2024-08-09 02:10:46 +0000 UTCNever seen a single episode! I think I've seen gifs and maybe little clips here and there, but I'm probably as close to a Buffy neophyte as it's possible to be these days 😄

2024-08-09 01:53:53 +0000 UTCYou're truly starting Buffy? I'm so excited! Have you ever seen it before? If you're going in blind, you might want a moderator to clean up spoilers in comments before you read them. Some Buffy fans just can't help themselves :p
