I actually quite like Sokka and Zukoβs actors. I do really like Kataras actress in later episodes though. I usually always give a pass to younger actors especially when they donβt have a lot experience. They canβt always be lucky in getting super talented kids right off the bat. Even the Harry Potter kids werenβt the best at the that age. I still love the movies though.

Itβs easy to say that fans of the original show shouldnβt compare the two but thatβs almost impossible to do. Obviously many people involved with this have done really good work but the main characters (except for Zuko and Iroh) donβt get me invested in them or the story like in the cartoon. Sokka still kinda works for me because heβs supposed to be a bit awkward. Aangβs actorβwell, I hope he improves in the next season. But I was most disappointed with Katara because in her case itβs not just the acting, which didnβt help, but also the way the character is written. In the original she has real fire when angry and can be both kind and bossy. In this show she comes off as extremely bland without any emotional range, even when fighting.
