The Pacific
Added 2024-01-31 02:01:04 +0000 UTCI feel like I almost don't even need to do a poll for this, but I'm going to anyway! Since I'll be wrapping up BoB this week, would you like me to start The Pacific afterward? It would be just for Patreon until BoB and MotA finish on YouTube, because I can only edit so much at a time. But I feel like I need to do all three, otherwise I'll be missing out on the trifecta!

And now Hanks and Spielberg need to do one about the aircraft carrier pilots and crews (I want to see their handling of the battle of Midway), one about the submarine service, and one about the tankers . . . a set of six miniseries would be about right.

They are tonally different, but the end goal and familial tie is the desire to honor the sacrifice of those who stepped up to the line when the world was mere inches away of tipping to despair. You need to see each one with that understanding, but they tell a brilliant collectives story of the duality of the most beautiful and horrific aspects of humanity, and yet they only reveal the tip of the iceberg. Don't read any books associated with any of the series beforehand if you haven't already, but when you do finish this run, there are a few in particular that are outstanding reads.

2024-01-31 03:30:06 +0000 UTCI've seen all 3. I love The Pacific a bit more than Band of Brothers for what the show does for me. Each show has its own feel and you'll learn to love each for their own way of showing the war and may even have a favorite of the 3 main shows.
