Band of Brothers 1x05 Full Length Reaction

Can we get a round of applause for Damian Lewis for leading this series just as well as Winters led Easy Company? Lets hear it for the man!

Can others hear the audio of the show - I am only hearing Jacqui's reaction but not the audio of the episode

Thank you so much for sharing! I'll have to think about this more as I get deeper into The Pacific. It's fascinating to hear more from an acting perspective! I love that there are so many ways to look at a series like this (and that it's so good it gives us plenty of material to work with 😄)

This episode, in my opinion is the most important of the series. I did a video essay in uni comparing the performance of Lewis as Winters and James Badge Dale as leckie (the pacific) for my acting degree. Theres so much meaning to the episode being called "crossroads" as its the center of the series and well as the crossroads in Winter's journey as a soldier - moving from frontline service into the command structure. The way that Lewis holds those private moments in the typewriter scenes is a beautiful performance. Listening to some of your comments about this show makes my own thoughts feel especially validated too - keep up the excellent work! Also fun fact, Tom Hanks cameoed in this episode as one of the Brits in the celebration scene Also the colour grading in the memory sequences is just beautiful - especially when you see the saturation contrast with the red smoke. I love this show

Oooooh thank you for pointing those out!

Ironic how Sink pivoted from "Don't worry about administration" to "Light a fire under it!" Also, a great bit of symbolism - even in Paris, when Winters was lowering himself into his hot bath, he had not taken off his dog tags. He can't let go.

Honestly dont think you will ever find a single soldier that would ever dispute that lol. He is one of the true greats of his time just like Chesty and Dan Daly

I will stand by my belief that Richard Winters was one of the Greatest Soldiers that the US Army has ever produced.

Loved Life. If I remember it seems like it came out around the previous writer's strike that kind of made a lot of series of the time short-lived. I could be wrong about that. But I loved the premise of it. And Damian Lewis was great in it.

Damian Lewis starred in a great series called Life that ran for two seasons in 2007 to 2009. I'm not sure why it was cancelled, but the story is tied up nicely in the end of the second season. I highly recommend checking it out. It's kind of an unfortunately simple title when trying to look up the series, though. Here's the IMDB page: https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0874936/ Also, nothing to do with BoB, except for the HBO connection, I suggest the short running series Deadwood (2004-2006). Best western ever put to film. Amazing characters and writing. Can't recommend it enough.

Thank you! I thought I was going crazy 😂

That was indeed Jimmy Fallon. He played George Rice, who made several runs to bring ammo and supplies to the paratroopers moving into Bastoigne (sp). I don't blame Fallon, were I an actor I would have wanted to be a part of this amazing series as well.
