Last but not least: You are right. Anabeth was played by Alexandra Daddario in the movie. The casting of Leah Jeffries actually caused an racist backlash, which unfortunately was to be expected. The YouTube comments of the cut down version of this reaction have someone dog whistling their outrage over the casting of her. Just as a heads up

2023-12-23 00:21:25 +0000 UTCThey didn't want Percy to know about his mom, because Percy hadn't been claimed yet. Nobody knew who his godly parent was before the giant trident appeared in the sky. Now that they now that Poseidon is his dad things have changed. The gods (or Zeus at least) suspect Percy of having stolen the bolt so Percy needs to clear his name (and the one of his dad in the process). Btw: Dionysos is the god of wine and parties. Except he is not allowed to touch alcohol while he is running the camp, because Zeus is punishing him for something. He actually got the job as camp director as part of the punishment in the first place.
