The big blackout didn't affect the Canary Islands. We are on a different continent and have our separate power generation instalations. The internet blackout took place later in the day, sort of a consolation prize.

I've been meaning to say that I'm sorry to read about the massive blackout in the Iberian Peninsula and the Internet blackout. For some reason with your name I kept thinking "oh, that's from the Americas -- for example Mexico or Central America". I see now that no, it's Spain!
