The amount of times I laughed during this episode, let me tell you... this kdrama is gold!
I am posting this episode earlier this week because I am a little bit delayed on True Beauty. BUT LET ME EXPLAIN WHY!
I looked episode 9 yesterday but there was no subtitles yet! That's why I couldn't watch it in time :(
BUT! I have already recorded the reaction today, which means it will be uploaded soon (probably tonight or tomorrow morning)

The important thing to know is that the royal family and the officials are divided into two clans (Kims and Jos) and they hate each other, so they battle for power XD

Basically, if you are a Queen and the King dies during his regime (not of treason of course) you stay as part of the royal family. But obviously, the older you are, more power you have. Of course this varies depending on who you have by your side as allies, which clan you are from, etc. But long story short, elders have more power and influence. Still, the King is the main figure that can gain a lot of power as time passes and eventually, the elder's orders can turn into just advice.

So in this case, the Great Queen Dowager (That in this you could say she is like the current King's grandmother), since is the oldest on the current royal line, has more influence and power than the King. That's why even the King has to obey any direct order from the Great Queen Dowager, specially with the current King being young and "new" to the throne.
