End of the Year : Beginning of the Road

I'll be making a video talking about the Blood Sun journey so far (not sure if it'll be out before the end of the year), but I wanted to give you guys a heads up on everything <3

So around this time last year, I'd been planning the trip to Mexico to do research for the project. Shortly after the New Year I spent 8 days crossing Mexico, mostly be car, and trying to absorb as much of the culture as I could. Clearly a little over a week isn't nearly enough, but I got the rough idea of what the scope of the project was going to be.

I immediately knew that I was taking on a project that was going to takeover a good chunk of my life for the next decade. And while that sounds like a lot, it's been about a year since I started, and I couldn't be more motivated and passionate about the project. 

So after the test scene, a very real conversation with myself needs to happen, and a plan needs to be formulated (with the understanding that all plans will inevitably have unforeseen twists and turns).

• Most likely what will happen will be a 6-month boarding period for the first 3 episodes, roughly an hour of content (18 minutes each). I'd like to have audio completed (or at least rough audio) to board around.
• After that, the production schedule will be focused around completing 2-4 minute chunks of each 18-minute episode. 
• I'm hoping to complete these segments every 2-months. Considering how long the test scene has taken, I'm sure that sounds impossibly ambitious... and it may at the beginning. But if support grows and we can get more hands on deck, the board and audio will be in place, so the whole production model should be scaleable (with the right talent on board).
• In a dream world, with a whole team in place, it should be possible to complete the 2-4 minute segments in a month. Anything faster than that seems unlikely. 

Releasing monthly clips is about on par with how some manga's (including JoJo) publish small chapters (sometimes monthly, sometimes bi-weekly). So it remains in the spirit of the ani-manga.

Things will change around here: namely, instead of stating that i'm making cartoons, I will update patreon to reflect that people are basically supporting this particular project (as well as my, of course).

Also, during the 6-months, I certainly don't expect you guys to simply wait through radio-silence, so I'll have plenty of Patreon-only content in the way of boards and designs, but will try my best not to give too much away, so you have stuff to look forward to on the release dates.

In the meantime, the test scene is missing just 5 art assets and some audio edits. Which means we're closing in on wrapping this up. While I hope to have all the animation done by year's end, the completed scene may not be released til right around new year.
