JoJo Project, Shirts, and Bizarre Adventures

Real quick! I recently designed my first t-shirt, and it is very much an MF-ing JoJo reference. For supporters who are interested, I'm planning on purchasing 40 for myself to give away to you guys. I'll figure out the best way to do so, but if any of you guys ARE fans of JoJo, keep yer eyes and ears open.

Next is the project: Blood Sun Vendetta. I'mma make an update video explaining this project to folks, but I figured for any of you following the posts here on Patreon, I'd give you a quick and personal update on it.

Basically, I've been a fan of JoJo since before my teens. And while it's influenced me as an artist and creator, I've never felt the confidence to create anything like it, not even a parody. Fast forward 25 years and I've just finished the YuGiOH! parody and just when I'm about to dive into Pawn Pawn (our original series)... I thought a quick JoJo parody would be fun to have on the board as well.

Well, like with YGO, I spent the next few weeks cramming my head with the source material and practicing the style. Going through all my old manga, rewatching the anime and sketching on the iPad.

Eventually, I got to a point where I felt mildly comfortable with the style when it dawned on me... "What the fuck am I doing? Why am I making another parody when I've spent all this time and energy getting the guts to even TRY the style in a project?"

You see, long ago, I had an idea for a JoJo fanfic storyline. I didn't get too deep into it, but it was an idea I had since I was a teenager. Nothing happened with it for over a 15 years, cuz I never really thought I could make it happen.

I decided to stop wishing I could do something, and just do it. So while I'm not nearly the artist Araki is or the animator that David Productions is ... I figured I'd take a crack at telling the story in a motion comic. Above is just a very rough B/W animatic of a later scene. But it will have sound and will possibly be in color, but definitely with cleaner art.

I'll give more details about the project and story in the official update video announcing the project, but first I want to complete at least like 20 second of the project with sound and whatnot to get a sense of how it would REALLY look and feel.

That's it for now, my friends. Just wanted to keep you posted as I've been a bit quiet finishing up a commission for a roofing company (animated commercial). I hope you guys have awesome Halloweens. Much hugs much smooches much appreciation. Much muchly.
