Zephyr tells himself it's acceptable to put your pet dogboy through a funny internet challenge to see adorable failed attempts, no hidden intentions at all....... then regrets it immediately.
Zephs actively avoids admitting to any second intentions towards Hyatt in "canon" settings (examples 1 and 2) despite the latter's obvious crush/thirst - so in an owner x pet AU setting, that aspect of their relationship is even more accentuated. Zephyr is also not only protective of Hyatt - he has a soft spot for small animals (specially cats), so Hyatt having doggy features only aggravates his owner's struggle. Cannot lewd the puppy! 💦
