(NSFW WIP) Happy Birthday, demon!Hyatt! (Zephyatt/OC)

So remember last month when I posted a last-minute WIP for Hyatt's birthday, and mentioned I'd prepare to do something more elaborate for demon!Hyatt's birthday?

Well, there it is. Devilish birthday boy also gets cake! BIG cake! (Nothing explicit, so cake is available for all patrons.)

August 4th isn't his actual canon birth date - he simply spawned in the world as he is and he claims og Hyatt's birth date - but it is the day when the AU first came to life in my TTRPG server, one year ago! :) Props to my ObliDream friends for indulging me.

This time I started the sketch early in advance, but still didn't give myself enough time to finish it in the proper day. I want to make this into a fully rendered piece later on, so off to the long line of personal WIPs for now!

Not sure if I'll go through with all the versions there, but I'm leaving them here for your enjoyment. Also, since for this one I used CSP's life saving 3D models for reference, I'm leaving the process here!

Ngl, I was a bit nervous about sharing the process since many people still associate using the 3D models with "cheating" - however it's a completely valid tool that's meant for using, and in no way takes from an artist's skill if used right. On my end, it has the same function as a static photo reference - saving you a lot of time in looking for complex poses and specific angles since you can pose them yourself.

A few patrons mentioned in the past they wanted to see the process including the models too, which encouraged me to post! I'm recording the timelapse for this too, so I'll also share it whenever it's finished.

Usually I'll do a rough trace of the models to understand the pose, then a rough sketch of the bodies fixing/translating the anatomy to my style, then actually sketch the characters and details.

I recommend roughly tracing the models only to understand the pose, then use it as a reference to sketch the anatomy in your own way - as tracing and drawing directly over the model might lead to stiff and unnatural-looking anatomy.
