(WIP) Spoilers for katsuyami ship week day 3

And day 3's themes are: fantasy/quests!

So I'm putting way more effort than I was anticipating because THESE ARE SO MUCH FUN. Fantasy AU katsuyami made me go feral. I've been picturing what they'd be in a RPG setting ever since the first fantasy AU spread came out- in the beginning I'd have Yami be a necromancer and Katsuki be a fancy barbarian to mirror the canon counterpart costumes, but eventually decided to stick what would fit their personalities most.

So Yami would be a rogue and Katsuki would be a paladin. I drew Yami leaner than I'd draw him as a pro hero since rogues/assassins are swift and sneaky- and designed his outfit to resemble what his hero outfit would look like in my headcanon (I didn't actually sit down and draw it yet, sorry). Being the edgy boy we know and skilled at speed, quick thought and hand in hand combat, this class fit him like a glove. Also I'M IN LOVE with the idea of Yami having long hair and a ponytail. I may or may not have taken Keith from VLD as inspiration while designing him.

As for Katsuki, I wanted his outfit to mirror Kacchan's in some way, so I added fluff to the cape and ridiculous skin exposition. That's the closest I could get to impractical sexy armor cause we know that's how he'd walk around. Paladin is also perfect for him- a literal white knight, bearer of the flame of justice, protector of the weak, believing himself the one and only Chosen One.

For the story behind it, I got two routes: 1) Katsuki is a paladin going on a quest for the crown, and upon consulting an oracle he learns he should team up with an assassin to succeed. Yami's a rogue for hire who's got his own grudging feelings against the royal guard, but he accepts the job. They plunge into adventure together through lots of bickering and unresolved sexual tension! :D

And 2) these are actually their characters in a tabletop RPG session with Deku and Kacchan in the PROT4 AU - in which ALL FOUR OF THEM get to plunge into adventure as both a fantasy party and a group of nerds playing a game.

I'd love to illustrate both ideas if I'd have the time. Time!! I'll try to finish these up ASAP cause there's one more AU I wanna draw for this ship week!
